Hmm...maybe they should take another look at it. This is alarming, even though swarms are known in that area. This is more then the "average" swarm.

I have been looking at the data that you linked to. It may just be high wind however at about 1200 hrs the background noise increased a great deal. Also there may be a frequency to the small shakes. We need some one who knows what to look for to take a look.

In my other thread I described before xmas how my father - a prominent UK vulcanologist was flown out to California and subsequently Mt Baker by the USGS - at emergency notice - to work on a project which he isn't allowed to go into detail about.

Basically there was activity at Baker involving increased ground temp. to the point where it melted the ice. Maybe more - he had to stay out there over xmas - unprecedented for my father - a real family man who loves xmas with the family.

No one thought it meant anything - who's laughing now kids! Something is DEFINITELY happening.

I'm glad I'm in the UK where I won't be burnt to death in a pyroclastic flow. Or put into a concentration camp when marshal law breaks out! Got to love the US democracy and readiness for disaster - Katrina anyone?

I don't want to doom and gloom everything completely.... but think about it... The gov and several large corporations just made off with all our money... Kinda makes you wonder if they aren't packing up and leaving us to our own devices.

If your father has any information that the world public should know about.. not just UK or USA, wouldn't it be prudent to get the word out?

I would hope his silence means that nothing is of concern.

Sorry he had to be away for the holidays though.

I really doubt that would ever happen, because what about their families etc. They couldn't be able to bring them either, and I doubt every government official is willing to leave everything behind...

I could however see other governments trying to pull that off. Don't get me wrong im not a big fan of our government to say, I personally believe that a world without governments would be better..but now were getting off topic.

This thing is very unstable, and it always has been, this could be it's breaking point finally. Any webot predictions about it yet??

Predictions aside, if the goverment or scientists did know about an imminent earthquake, they most likely wouln't tells us, but we would see a huge movement of political or scientific leaders from mid western states to southern states or even to europe.

There's no way they would risk they're elite in something of that nature.

i'll start worrying when they're sending the Commitee on Foreign Relations and the White House Cabinet members on an "extended vacation" to the other side of the earth.

You do know that there is a caldera right under it? so we would expect earthquake activity. And an eruption is due (in geological time, which could be tomorrow or could be in centuries)

God how ironic would it be that with the way that everything has been going down the pan latley Yellowstone sneaks up behind us and drags the plannet into a nuclear winter. I hope this passes, although have worried about Yellowstone since seeing that terrible movie they discussed I was blissfully unaware of the destructive power the caldera held. There is alot going on shortly in and around our planet. The big officials have been warned by our alien friends but they choose all of them to be silent plus there is not alot that cannot be done and really most people would not believe it. Just like the planet that is also returning in its many year rotation.It is a fact this planet and two moons are comming. These bodys comming this close to the earth and a possibility that one will impact the earth has many countrys wondering what to do? Date 2012 but other things should happen before they come-like earthquakes unheard of for thousands of years.This is also in the bible-warnings! The Maya and others also-look it up don't be blind look this up!All of these underground living spaces you have been hearing about what do you think they are for? The general population must go somewhere? This is not a prank or (BS) check it out.this will effect most of us -be aware! A friend!

You don't have to hate to tell me that, of course they wouldn't issue a warning of an impending disaster of that magnitude.

At this stage I don't see anything to get everybody all worked up about, just because there were EQ swarms. Swarms happen all the time in some active regions around the world. At this stage we can only estimate a major Earthquake or Volcanic Eruption may happen within a given time frame, they cannot be predicted or stopped.

The point is whether or not Yellowstone is swarming with EQ's at the current time, it's always been known it could erupt at any given moment without any warning.
