I hope very much that this is true. I couldn't find this on any other major news outlets. I will try and find more on this subject. But until this i
would like to hear everyone elses views on this. I believe that they have already found the cure but refuse to release it to the public. If anyone has
anymore information on this subject please add

We have cures for a lot of things already. Aids. Cancer. You name it. It's just a matter of getting them exposed to the public and telling the
capitalist extremists at the big pharma cartels to "f*** off!" and stop thinking in terms of "good business" and start thinking in terms of
"actually helping people". But I've said this in another thread and I will say it again. This isn't a perfect world. It never was. And it never
will be.

If they find a cure they will probably find it from something that everyone can buy for $2. Then they give it a fancy new name and sell it for
hundreds.

My uncle died from HIV. My grandparents are well enough off that I assure you lack of money was not the cause of his death. If there was a price
that could have been paid to keep him alive it would have been. White, btw.
Some would say that Big Pharma will either bury this or exploit it to maximize profit. A part of me believes that if there truly is a cure to be
found, that wouldn't be the case.

Old news or not, this is awesome news in an otherwise bad news world.
And another example of misplaced priorities in government.
According to estimates from the UNAIDS 2008 Report on the global AIDS epidemic, around 30.8 million adults and 2 million children were living with
HIV at the end of 2007.
www.avert.org...
That's nearly 33 MILLION people worldwide waiting desperately with their health deteriorating every day and death awaiting with painful suffering.
With a technique like that showing SO much promise, President Bush himself ought to be camping out on the front steps of the place every night doing
everything he can to push that into fast forward at 1000x normal speed.
But instead he's worried about which banks, airlines, and automakers he's going to save, and what country to bomb next.
Well maybe since 67.8% of those are in Africa (scroll down at that link and see pie chart), Obama will take some notice and make it happen fast. I
mean, gotta help the hometown boys out first, right?
Seriously though, this is really awesome. And using similar techniques they may have breakthroughs against other tough viruses as well.
Talk about a topic that ought to be flagged into oblivion, this is IT!
REAL news, instead of war, war, war and bankrupt, bankrupt, woes.

Well said. These research institutions have (like the cancer fund in Holland) have received billions of Euros over the decades. Every now and then you
hear something in the news about 'some new medicine' but swiftly after, it disappears and no new medicine will be brought onto the markets. They
don't want a cure for AIDS nor for cancer, it's simply not profitable enough in comparison to medicines that have a higher lifetime value.

In other news, the bodies of several scientists were found burned in their laboratory and all data destroyed from their hard drives. No additional
information is available at this time, but the authorities have ruled out arson and homicide.
But in all seriousness, if they come out with an AIDs vaccine and cure that'd be great. I know there are many that make poor choices and end up
getting it, but most people deserve a second chance. That and the fact some children are born with it due to their parents mistakes. Hopefully we'll
see some more information on this. I remember hearing posts like this every year or so, but nothing ever comes from them.

It would be nice to see an AIDS/HIV cure come around at long last. Many folks get AIDS/HIV thru no fault of their own. Some are born with it, some get
it thru faulty blood transfusions, etc, etc....and yes, some folks make choices that are faulty. Does that mean they don't deserve a second chance?
I'm not their judge.
But you are right too- big Pharma isn't interested in cures, only prolonging the agony of people who are ill. There's no money in curing diseases.
It's sad- when will we ever learn?

I dunno how much AIDS scares y'all, but I got a theory: the day they come out with a cure for AIDS, a guaranteed one-shot cure, on that day
there's gonna be #ing in the streets, man. -Bill hicks

Sceptism is the first emotion I feel toward this news.
How many times in the past has this not been "News", and then it always just fades, never to be heard of again.
I think it would be very interesting to follow this doctors career from here on.
If he isn't demoted soon, there's always the untimely heartattack or car/aircraft accident waiting on him! Not to mention the huge possibilty of the
IRS stripping him for some kind of admin discrepancy...
just my 2 cents.....

I am certain you had good intentions with your post, but you should be very careful of your wording on a very sensitive case as this!

Sorry, but I have a hard time believing that we have JUST found the cure for AIDS. Just like everything else, it's a money game, and I believe that
the highest bidder probably had acess to it a while ago.
