There's the problem right there.
No wonder you don't like Talib Kweli and Common. :shk:
I don't suppose you like No I.D. or Gravity, who are also from Chicago, right?
Me growing up with gangsta rap is far from a "problem" lol. I grew up in
gangs...it was a part of my lifestyle. I do like some of
No I.D.'s production but I'm not a fan of No I.D. or Gravity or Talib and Common. It really has nothing to do with gangsta music as much as their
Chicago is and always will be a gangsta rap city so it's hard for Hip Hop "purists" and "high concept" rappers to get ahead. Don't get me wrong
there are some...but not many...Triple Darkness, Twista, Lon Don, EC ILLA, Legendary Traxster, Do or Die, Crucial Conflict and a #load of others
really run Chicagos rap atmosphere. Political music doesn't sit all that well in Chicago. It's racial atmosphere is strained as it is.
MORE POWER TO THE PURISTS!!!
I do enjoy LCOB, JMT and a few others but I've always been an underground hardcore fan.
