that was heartwarming Pause - really - it's hard to follow - a little boy that saves people's lives - now I feel kinda bad about my choice

still - I think it's always uplifting to see examples of resourceful people who make the most out of a bad situation...

I'm one of those people - not sure what's wrong with me - but I never did care much for the movie "Gone With The Wind"

it's long

and I had a hard time getting past the clothes for one thing - I kept looking at all those women in those big dresses - if I'd been born into a situation where I had to wear a corset, a hoop skirt and dozens of other undergarments - as soon as I hit puberty I would have hidden in the root cellar - drinking (not sipping) bourbon and praying for my own death

in that heat - they're kidding - right?

anyway - recently gave it a second chance - it was much better than I'd remembered

didn't like the movie - but have long been fascinated by Miss Scarlett - what a gal :-)

hey Pause!

found this completely by accident...

I realized as soon as I saw it that, gosh darn it - no matter who you voted for - this is uplifting

even if you had no idea who the man was prior to seeing this video - still uplifting

VIVA!

That really did make me smile.

Moving swiftly on (avoiding - ahem - controversy) how about these?

(I found the panoramic sunrise on the Isle of Skye and the tranquility of Rannoch Moor delightfully transporting...)

I'll refer to this one, which I posted some time ago in the media section but people don't seem to go there frequently

I love this movie!

Very poignant. Thank you!

(Not an easy act to follow, but it would be great to see other contributions that have that kind of impact.

how could it not?

why - nothing controversial at all - just a simple celebration of over the top absurdity - with or without the politics

I'd like one in every flavor please :-)

so how about bagpipes, kilts and Scots - with the thickest brogue you've ever heard (and of course - the subtitles would have to stay)

Aye Obama! Aye!

(I found the panoramic sunrise on the Isle of Skye and the tranquility of Rannoch Moor delightfully transporting...)

I think I might have to move

seriously - thanks for that

Nice move.

(I trust you noted the difference in tone with the sheepskin bags. And the guy who didn't get his spikes up early enough. Tut, tut.)

here's to problem free introductions everywhere!

:-)

thank you -

I saw the Black Watch when I was about 9 - I was completely mesmerized - coolest thing ever

I really do love bagpipes

but no matter how good - and no matter how serious - there always seems to be a very good chance for funniness hovering somewhere nearby

there's barely any space between not funny and extremely funny at all

maybe I just watch way too much Monty Python :-)

I hear you! However I'm convinced any army hearing the 'pipes drifting across the battlefield would've felt nothing but AWE.

Imagine, you still can't see the enemy (behind the hill) - just this unearthly wall of sound getting nearer and nearer...

Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

Not sure if you made it to Scotland. How about a trip to warmer climbs? Maybe a spot of fishing...

oh - without a doubt

it is a beautiful thing

but I have to believe that even awestruck and terrified to the point of wetting themselves - had they ever seen a really good Python skit beforehand they'd still be thinking to themselves "hey - this might be funny"

:-)

on the fishing - laughed til I hurt myself

I don't ever want to live in a world without crazy people

edit to ask: they don't really "catch" any fish though - do they?

Kind of like this fella, perhaps:

(Make sure you watch the whole thing - it gets better as it goes on.)

Not that way, silly. You have to do it properly so you can tire the beast out:

hard core sitting - LOVE this guy!!!

poetry - and some irony - in motion

beautiful - especially the end

the fishing - these guys are certifiably nuts - and hilarious

but in the end - I am on the side of the fish :-)

at least it's catch and release

and now, I have more thinking to do...

humor is like that sometimes

:-)

OK, lets just stick to sharks, then:

did you notice how he didn't seem nervous - not even a little? and on top of everything - everything - it's worth noting - the red bow? very nice touch :-)

Don't be jealous - just borrow a tractor:

I've said it before - I'll say it again - I love crazy people - they're the best

after that - there aren't enough words :-)

I especially liked that there weren't any words

Face it - you don't get out enough.

I know Pause...it's true (who have you been talking to?)

I love the melody to that tune
Spiram. I can imagine how that might have lifted those soldiers spirits. I wish I knew what she was saying. LOL!)
