Incantation
Czeslaw Milosz

Human reason is beautiful and invincible.
No bars, no barbed wire, no pulping of books,
No sentence of banishment can prevail against it.
It establishes the universal ideas in language,
And guides our hand so we write Truth and Justice
With capital letters, lie and oppression with small.
It puts what should be above things as they are,
Is an enemy of despair and a friend of hope.
It does not know Jew from Greek or slave from master,
Giving us the estate of the world to manage.
It saves austere and transparent phrases
From the filthy discord of tortured words.
It says that everything is new under the sun,
Opens the congealed fist of the past.
Beautiful and very young are Philo-Sophia
And poetry, her ally in the service of the good.
As late as yesterday Nature celebrated their birth,
The news was brought to the mountains by a unicorn and an echo.
Their friendship will be glorious, their time has no limit.
Their enemies have delivered themselves to destruction.

Christian the Lion gets me every time. That is truly amazing. I showed it to some girls at work and they were all crying.

The other one I liked was the last one of the graffiti artist. That is talent! WOW! I would love to know who he is and were you can find his work.

I have to admit it - the lion gets me every time too! Don't miss the second lion video (from Solarskye) further down page 1. It takes the breath away.

PS - I'll let you know if I manage to dig up who that artist is.

Wow!

There's not much you can say, is there? Incredible.

Isn't it astounding what the human voice can do:

I hear there's a roaring trade in throat pastels in Mongolia.

Poor pussy. (No taste.)

Let's educate her:

Step it up, man, step it up:

Is she swaying?

Is she swaying?

no....she appears to be indifferent - but, she's a cat (and anyway, she usually votes with her feet)

:-)

I love that instrument - LOVE - I could listen to that all day

now - do you know what you've started? :-)

we could do THIS all day:

or we could just watch the "It's A Small World" video again

:-) no - this is probably better

A recent survey funded by National Geographic USA asked 1,000 British citizens what they thought of American Independence. 83% refused to answer, but their body language was noted:

When interviewed, the Queen declined to comment. However it appeared neither Her Majesty (nor her translator) were amused:

Too good to be true

you're
a mirage on the edge of a sun drenched desert
shimmering on the horizon
just out of reach
the pot of gold waiting
for someone foolhardy enough to follow
a rainbow
to the ends of the earth
atlantis
sunken and hidden
ancient and waiting
magnificent

a siren
making magellans and other seagoers
crash gladly into rocks and razor sharp coral reef
with a soft, seductive lullaby
a muse
driving dantes and shakespeares to
the point of soliloquies and other artistic supernovas
a beauty with a hint of madness
that inspires volumes
angel;
a sweet rush of light and a trip through a tunnel
squeezing the life back in
from a near death experience

you must be a figment
of a feverish imagination
a bi product from years
of romantic frustration
a faery of old
twinkling on the outskirts
of a children's hedgemaze
a vengeful goddess
bathed in white cloth and greek omnipotence
you cannot exist
unless everything they say is true
but if that's the case...

Sorry I never responded to the above.

Suffice it to say I believe you must have spoken to an insider regarding the first video. It's the quintessential old favorite.

Time for a little heart warming...
