everything most of u guys say is fine but remember this it is better to have both yur bases covered. be prepared for both eventualities. dont put all your eggs in one basket. why does it have to be one thing or the other why cant it be all things.

if 2012 is nothing or something it doent matter, if it is an excuse for us as humans to pull our heads out of our proverbial asses and make a change for the better who cares what day it is. lets do it tomorrow. but that not how people work. we need to be conned into things. its not the messenger we should focus on its the message.

so in closing what will happen if nothing happens in 2012 ill be disappointed but then how is that going to be different from any other day.

Nothing out of the ordinary is going to happen.

It's a real pity that people feel the need to spread fear and despair, because they personally would love a disaster. Why do you see the
symbol with many posts about war, depression, war, and end-of-the-world posts? Because some people are bored stiff, and the thought of a disaster really excites them.

The economy is going to collapse!

NWO is going to take over the world!

We are all going to die!

The only thing missing from those are the extra !s and several
along with plenty of caps lock.

And how did you come to that conclusion? You're not another fortune teller too, are you? How do you know nothing will happen THIS TIME we pass through the dark rift and cross the galactic plane and the poles shift? Can I see your research on whatever it is you based this conclusion upon? Come on, share, and put all our fears to rest, please? Please?

I think there is more than the mayan calender pointing to this date, such as the chinese I ching and the Tzolkin.
As for something catastrophic happening, maybe, maybe not. I don't feel it is depressing if something of that caliber does happen, the board needs to be washed before a new painting is applied.

Personally whether something does or does not happen, I truely believe that we as a species will advance into a new stage of thinking. I can already see people ready for a change in the way we live.

Just going with the odds. When people talk about 2012 in a disaster-y sort of way, they are talking about world-altering events. Not just a WW, or a big volcano going off, and so on.. but a massive, global catastrophe on par with the event that killed off the dinos.

What are the odds that this will happen? Pretty damn now. I am perhaps guessing, but I guarantee my guesses are much more likely to happen than the odd event that may occur every 800k years. So while sure, I'm not positive I am right.. I figure I am MORE right than a disaster occurring. I am the guy saying "there are from 1 to 20,000 beans in that jar," and you are the person saying "there are exactly 6,729 beans in that jar." I would pretty much bet everything to say I am right. And I bet I am.

If you have some amazing, hitherto unreleased info that guarantees a global catastrophe, I'd love to hear it.

Common sense at last, I wash your feet with my hair for this comment
Can everyone please read St UDIOS comment!!!

I know of over 200 failed EOTW predictions, Heck, Ive lived through a handful, and its NOT WORTH THE WORRY PEOPLE, chill out, love your family and friends and if its does come to pass. your gone, but you can go at any time....
Christians in J.C's time belived the end of the world was coming in THEIR lifetime and that he would come and save them. In Matthew 24:34, JC is recorded as saying: "...This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." Since the life expectancy in those days was little over 30 years, JC predicted his second coming sometime during the 1st century CE.

Some other famous EOTW moments...

1832: Joseph Smith (1805-1844) was the founder of the Church of Christ
1794:Charles Wesley, one of the founders of Methodism, thought Doomsday would be in this year.
1914, 1915, 1918, 1920, 1925, 1941, 1975 and 1994, etc. pretty much covers how many times the Jehova witnesses have predicted it.
1982: Astronomers John Gribben & Setphen Plagemann predicted the "Jupiter Effect" in 1974

I'm not even going there with Y2K (cost my company a dang fortune for nothing, what a joke)
and finally one of my personal favourites....
2012: Michael Drosnin, author of "The Bible Code,"

If you truly want to laugh and maybe relax a little on EOTW 2012 stuff watch this...

Well, the dinosaurs did died off two crossings ago (one cycle ago). I've spent a lot of time reading about this subject, and not just about the myths, but all of the archeology evidence that suggests something pretty significant happens when we pass through the dark rift.

When I first learned of 2012 about a dozen years ago, I thought it a bunch of bull too. But I also didn't know beans about our galaxy and the history of our solar system either. After reading so much about this, I'm quite convinced "something" is going to happen. Maybe this won't happen in 2012. It could happen in 2011. It could happen this week. It could happen a few years from now.

There was an 8 part video on YouTube for a while called The Horizon Project that pretty much summed up what is likely going to happen when we cross the galactic plane again (which BTW triggers a pole shift). I wish I had another link to this video, but I see it's now only available for $24.95 on their web site. There certainly does appear there is enough scientific evidence that bad things happen when our solar system crosses the galactic plane, the dark rift. I'm sure that if the nah-sayers looked into half of this information, they too would recognize that there is a LOT of truth about this event which we should be concerned about. It's pretty hard to deny the facts, but it's pretty easy to live in denial.

Of course, on the other hand, there really isn't much 6.666 billion people can do NOW to be ready for this, so maybe it's a good thing that so many want to blow this off as nothing and carry on unprepared. One has to admit there are just too many humans on this planet, and a little more elbow room would sure be nice. More people that want to live in denial should move to coastal cities.
Me? I'm going to be ready the best I can just in case. And hey, even if nothing happens, I'll still be prepared for any mischief that the humans themselves can bring about that would cause me to sure be thankful for being prepared for the worst.

FYI: Our solar systems crossing over through the galactic plane is not merely a prediction. It is fact. You can look it up if you want. You can grab a telescope and see for yourself too. And, if you look into Earths past and research this a little bit, you'll see that some pretty dramatic Earth changes occur during these crossings, and pole shifts too. The human species survival may depend upon at least some of us around the world being prepared the best we can, but frankly, I'm hoping most won't prepare, a lesser populated planet in the years that follow 2012 would be sweet. If nothing should happen, hurray! If something should happen, I'm gonna be digging through your stuff 4 years from now, so take good care of your things.

If the SHTF, humans not on ATS or who know anything about 2012 are just as able to survive as you. Humanity fights for survival whether its prepared or not....There has been so many of these, relax, and if it happens, great you can go through my Sh*t if i dont need it, its yours, and to anyone else who needs it for survival, just please make sure my dogs are looked after whilst your at it.

To the OP:

Personally I'm pretty skeptical that something significant will happen and think this is another y2K type scare. If there is something that will happen it will be because it was engineered that way by those who actually seek to profit from others' misery. This idea could infact be part of it to make people fear a coming crisis and embrace the NWO to protect them from it.

There is going to be a lot of false prophets coming out of nowhere claiming they have the exact date to when something is going to happen in order to get a reaction from the people to do what they need them to do. (cause panic, make them submissive, buy books, entrust their money to new age gurus, join end-of-world or alien cults (ie raelian for example) ...and when nothing does happen, those who created the panic will create a 'damage control' plan to try to escape the ridicule of being wrong or having fallen for someone's scam. I'm sorry but when you start to mention actual dates you've already put yourself in the spotlight and in the medias attention and people WILL have every right to ridicule you if you are wrong. I'm not trying to pick on you specifically but just warning you now that you will cost a lot of people money when they start to listen to it and panic and it affects their life and mental well-being.

To the people that say: "it will be slow gradual changes that will not be noticeable so STFU and stop saying nothing significant is going to happen when it is"

To that I respond: "Ok then, so why even mention the date at all then?"

Really if it is going to be slow and gradual why keep using the 2012 year as the marker?

For those who come at this from a biblical "Revelations says something bad is coming" perspective. Remember it never explicitly states a date and actually goes in the opposite direction saying that only god knows the time.

No mortal man (or even angels) can know the exact time because then people will just prepare ahead of time expecting it, and then whole exercise of testing your faith would be pointless since you manage to escape from responsibility of being on your best behavior 24/7 where normally random checks would show you are truly doing what you say you pledge to do. (ie follow your god obediently, instead of whining about how long its taking for the second coming and showing impatience and wanting to suffer instead of trying to heed the warnings that prophecies bring to avoid cataclysm. If in your heart you want death, and for people to fail, that is not a healthy attitude - it should be more like 'what can I do to help this person so he avoids a horrible fate?' instead of "haha, we told you. I'm glad to see you get what you deserve!" :@@

One thing people must understand is that one of the great tricks of history is to use fear to control masses of people or get them conditioned to behave in a certain way and take advantage of you that way. This is how the elite convince you to follow their solutions to problems that don't exist. Pay off the intellectual elite to create false information, spread it into schools to dumb down the masses, get people to feel afraid and then shape their thoughts over time to gradually and slowly accept their plans to grant more power money to their scheme. (has anyone even considered that all the catastrophes are triggered and great chaos brought about by those who want to depopulate society. Many of the new age books worship the planet as a godess and this religion actually plays into the hands of the elite who want to reduce the worlds population for their own selfish purposes. (not because they are humanitarians and want the best for society, but because they want to limit the growth of humans on earth.

While the catastrophe goes on they will have some safe location watching it. People they use are just cattle. Humans are valuable only so much as what they can take from them. To materialistic people earth is merely a farm, and you are an animal to exploit.

It's true. This is how people sell products, how politicians get you to vote for them, how police interrogate a criminal for information, how parents teach kids etc.

The thing is the fear by itself isn't bad. Fear can be used to protect someone (warning children of pedos), feed the economy(lots of services exist purely because people have feared that they couldn't live without it, which is good for jobs) , warn you (in the case of great dangers like your body showing you symptoms of disease which doctors fear could spread) and correct bad behavior. (ie noah warning of the flood for you religious people - it was conditional on how people acted and behaved, a punishment due to save good people from destruction by the bad. The story was not presented as something that was going to happen anyway regardless of what people were doing then, but something that saved good people from all the chaos that was going on)

Fear can have it's good side. The dark side is when the fear is abused and misplaced. It's ok to be prepared, for sure. But remember that causing fear with the intent to mislead people is a different thing. I think this might be one of those things just based on how vague and speculative it all sounds. By saying it's got to happen on X date, you put yourself to an unnecessrily harsh test and play into the hands of the fear mongers who may not have pure intentions like normal people, with the whole scare. 9/11 was one such example: they need you to be paranoid of enemies outside, in the hope that the anger and fear will trigger violence in you (spend more money on weapons) and to justify bringing in martial law. "You have no rights, "show me your papers." That is the dark side to fear.

Everyday they want to think up new ways to condition you to accept their great "change". One such thing is blaming you into thinking you caused the earthquake through modern living, or that if ONLY you had stopped breeding the earth could replenish. Nonsense there is enough food to feed the entire world's population but those who seek to control the supply of the food don't want nature to work that way - to a greedy man out to make profit, this is how they think: you do not give stuff for free even if you could. But they need you to think that "being fruitful and multiplying on earth" is bad so that they can control you more easily. So there is a sinister motive to the "earth worship" cults out there posing as humanitarians. (most of the new age authors I don't trust since they were part of the depopulation agenda for a long time) It all sounds very "UN" in what they are trying to do. "Give up your guns, your right to work, your ability to have a big family, your "outdated" religion, and entrust us as your great leader who will solve all your problems, ..even though we secretly have our own motive for world control and bringing about global socialism and redistribution of your land".

Globalist thinkers need you scared of something before you accept their changes. The central bankers can't convince you to do their evil bidding without using shock tactics or subtle mind control (media, tv, newspapers, "controversial books") to get your attention and raise awareness for movements they put in place to make you think ordinary people came up with the idea and not some rich guy with a nefarious purpose who seeks to profit form changes. If you are thinking of the NWO, you need to spread chaos to create the type of order you need where people are too scared to think for themselves and must rely on you (the manipulator) exclusively to save them. So the solution must be created with the problem in advance so that you can hurry the change before people wake up to what you are doing. For example you can't have famines if people know how to farm. So you destroy crops with disasters and spread diseases to make people non-productive.

continued..

the same idea applies to everything:

you can't have a easily persuaded public if you don't buy off all the repsected intellectual figures or control the entertainment industry and own the charismatic role models. These are great tools for mind control and manipulation becaus people's attention is focused on them all the time.
You can't destroy religion without first getting people to believe that people of different beliefs get along without killing each other (killing other humans is something that is forbidden in all the good religions out there). So you create false news and fake reasons for destroying things. They need to control your emotions and get you away from using logic. Reacting to an event, not thinking through the events with your mind. Scare tactics are proven to work in business. The military also uses them to psychologically affect the enemy. In sports and games you use it to taunt your opponent to get him to react in a more predictable way or to make them unfocused. Manipulation of masses of people however requires that everyone groupthink. Merges their brain into one whole. Not thinking individually and clearly. This is why globalism is such a big threat: you all think the solution has to be a global effort, and not indidivual where each person does what they choose to do so long as they don't hurt the other guy on the part of the world they don't have any business interfering with.

Because the elite want to control the world, it is very easy for us to look to them as some humanitarian trying to protect and save people. "Oh we must not drive cars." "We must stop using weapons" "we must have a global currency" "we must have a carbon tax" "we must go to iraq and kill people"
"we must have global consciousness and merge our thoughts together as one and no different opinions" "we must look overseas for jobs to be competitive, not support the local people of the nation who wil go on welfare after they can't find work" "we must tag the human population with RFID" All sorts of really humane things on the surface, brought about because people assume "if you don't do this, ....this tragic thing will happen" and believe in absolutes. That you can't have two people of different opinions and also peace at the same time. That you can't have security, and also respect of privacy at the same time. That you can't have stability, and trust in the money. That you can't have happiness, if you don't hand money to some dodgy cause to fight some non-existent threat. etc

Notice how every globalist idealist that creates problems, is usually pointing the finger of blame on humans? Perhaps the greed of the few is why the earth is doing what it is doing, as a punishment to those who want to control the world. By having nature/god destroying your land which the greedy want to monpolise and control, the evil man can't have his eternal empire with obedient slaves who will serve under him, without also having some kind of event to destroy that very empire to teach the evil man a lesson?
"You worked for nothing. I let you get this far just so that I could watch you witness its destruction. This was never yours to "own". It was mine and you wont be allowed to have your way with my creation unless I say you can."

What's happening is this:
1. those in control just create a staged/engineered disaster to get you scared into global system. (the fear mongering to get closer to the NWO)

www.youtube.com...
where the PTB demand "everyone must give their trust to global leadership"

2. the real disaster happens after; the end of time which was predicted in prophecy. This isn't the same thing. There is no date set on this and no one knows it. It is based more on events as they happen which requires you observe the events in your lifetime for any signs.

As far as the Y2K, and people "preventing" it — that is not how it happened. I was furiously patching computers, servers, you name it... and we were not close to done, and NOTHING happened. Not one anomaly. If no one would have caught it, or noticed it, I have a feeling there would have been very minor hiccups, nothing else. Certainly the world would not have collapsed, with wars and all hell breaking loose. People like to worry, they enjoy disasters, and the thought of some tragedy occurring for some reason, really excites some people.

So they blow anything out of proportion. And usually nothing happens. Reminds me of the weather forecasts in Colorado. Omg.. we are going to get TWO FEET of snow!!! Next morning.. 1". Or nothing at all.

I'm not so much a fan of the 2012 countdown. So not much will change other than I doubt there will ever be another future calendar date I will ever be curious towards.

I've seen a few UFOs in my life so my thoughts on ETs will not change. I just know they're here doing whatever they want and remaining very quiet about it.

My belief in conspiracies in general won't be affected other than curiosity on future paranormal predictions. 2012 seems "old" enough to me to be a stand-out example compared to other prediction dates. If nothing happens then I would likely expect nothing paranormal to happen later either. Especially since I haven't heard of a single other old prediction with a date set in stone like 12-21-2012.

I will say though that dates given by some scientists regarding the human destruction of much of the life on the planet will still stick in my head. Predictions of much of the world's fish dwindling to extinction levels in 30-40 years rings true to me as do even nearer dates on the destruction of forests by logging industries.

With everything that is going on it this mixed up world right now I am starting to look forward to 12-21-2012 counting down the minutes. The people of this world need to wake up. What is needed is a RESET and maybe that is what 12-21-2012 will be. I would not say I am looking forward to the end of the world as such but a change is badly needed and if this one must end in-order for that change to happen then so be it.The things I see and hear make me ashamed to be called human some times.
If I had a way off this rock I would take it and never look back.
