'Orwell rolls in his grave' documentary featuring interviews with various high ranking news editors/CEOs of media outlets.

It gives an informed opinion by those who count and paints an unhealthy picture of various global corporations attempting to control and manipulate the news media through editorial censorship and precision propaganda.

I don't think Mr Orwell would be too impressed-is there anyone still out there who doesn't beleive we are living in a highly cynical and agenda driven mediocracy?

The cigarette psychology experiment is a very interesting one-I'm not suprised most ladies starting smoking after that.

Theres an excellent book/film on the subject of 'mass media manipulation' called
Toxic sludge is good for you which documents how many
'expert media pundits' portrayed in the corporate news
broadcasts are in fact just Pentagon motivated,agenda driven
'talking heads' who stand to gain lucrative contracts/employment/incentives if they say the right things (or omit others).
The book also contains some very revealing facts about the Public relations industry and editorial censorship.

By the early 1950s,the CIA had cosy relationships with most major media executives in America.
The most significant of these were with the New York Times, Washington Post, Christian Science Monitor, New York Herald Tribune, Saturday Evening Post, Miami Herald, Time-Life, CBS News, Scripps-Howard Newspapers, Hearst Newspapers, The Associated Press, United Press International, The Mutual Broadcasting System and Reuters.
In addition ,the CIA had major ownership over many proprietary publications throughtout Europe,Asia and the Americas.
By the early 1970s the agency admitted to having working relationships with over four hundred American journalists.
Consider the possiblities with four hundred strategically placed people throughout the mainstream media.
There is evidence that this relationship continues.

This amazing interview was done back in 1985 with a former KGB agent who was trained in subversion techniques. He explains the 4 basic steps to socially engineering entire generations into thinking and behaving the way those in power want them to. It's shocking because our nation has been transformed in the exact same way, and followed the exact same steps.

Pentagon used psychological operation on US public, documents show

..In a January 2005 memorandum to active members of both offices from then-Pentagon press office director, Navy Captain Roxie Merritt, who now leads the community relations office, emphasized the necessary “synergy of outreach shop and media ops working together” on the military analyst program.

Merritt recommended that both the press and community relations offices develop a “hot list” of analysts who could dependably “carry our water” and provide them with ultra-exclusive access that would compel the networks to “weed out the less reliably friendly analysts” on their own.

“Media ops and outreach can work on a plan to maximize use of the analysts and figure out a system by which we keep our most reliably friendly analysts plugged in on everything from crisis response to future plans,” Merritt remarked. “As evidenced by this analyst trip to Iraq, the synergy of outreach shop and media ops working together on these types of projects is enormous and effective. Will continue to examine ways to improve processes.”
