Pope Benedict XVI has said that saving humanity from homosexual or transsexual behaviour is just as important as saving the rainforest from destruction.

He explained that defending God's creation was not limited to saving the environment, but also about protecting man from self-destruction.

Hmmm i may be missing somethnig really big here but how is homosexual men or transsexuals a bigger or just as big a problem as the rainforest being destroyed this is yet another proud moment for the pop and christianity altogether

Also he goes onto say that we are going to detroy ourselves "why"?because we have a small minority of Gay this m,an just cannot grasp tha fact that some people are Gay because they are being true to themselves he also holds a belief in God which to be fair has an endless list of flaws surrounding it.

I once saw a street preacher in Manchester (UK).

I asked him the old question, "If God is real why does bad stuff happen?"
Then, "If God is real why did he allow Hitler to kill so many?"

His answer was that God gave us the free will to do as we see fit.
Homosexuals, transexuals - infact, anybody and everybody exercises their free will. Exercises 'Gods gift' to us all..

so I'm stuck at how it can be bad.

what if the aliens that come (whom he says may very well be without original sin) .. are "gender blurred" ?

Because contradiction is rampant in the Bible...seems normal that people who read the bible would also contradict themselves.Anyway,even many catholics couldn't give a toot about what the pope says...this will die away from headlines and no one will care what the vile little man said.

Has the pope taken a look at his own wardrobe lately? Most of the stuff a pope wears is so flamboyant it looks like it was looted from Liberace's closet.
And he has the nerve to complain about gender blurring?

The Pope is just a silly old man that is the head of a dying religion. He is trying to hold onto power as long as he can.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment of many in this thread, I don't believe Catholicism is dying, unfortunately.

I love the hypocrasy. Old unmarried bloke in a dress,telling everyone to save the sanctity of marriage. How many peadophile preist scandals have been covered up?

I agree 100% that "an unmarried man in a dress" has no room to complain about the blurring of the genders and I also agree (someone close to me was a victim) that too many boys were very badly abused at the hands of catholic priests HOWEVER I do also believe that homosexuality (male and female) will be the downfall of humankind. When men no longer procreate with women and women no longer procreate with men - how will the human race continue?

Yes there are a few homosexuals, but that percentage grows everyday.

homosexuality is not natural, if something is right or wrong you can judge but imagining the extreme version of that truth.

if a society is full of homosexuals then there will be nothing but test tube babies, that is not natural as you all know.

I also wouldnt want to raise my kids in that type of society.

The percentage of homosexuals only appears to grow because they finally feel safe enough to let people know they're gay. People don't just sign up and convert, they just are.
There are gays, who have always been gay, always will be gay.
Then there's bi-sexuals, who Christians all too often confuse with gays, problem being, THEY are the ones who can go back and forth between straight and gay... the gays don't have this option.

Remember that, gays can't convert. They always were, and always will be gay, and no, their ratio is not increasing, they're just finally safe enough to let you know they're gay... without you crucifying them and lighting them on fire.

Yes, Homosexuality IS natural. You can find it everywhere in nature. I've seen so many cases of same sex animals attempting to have intercourse... at first it's just funny as heck watching them try... but then you start to realize the implications.


You won't have to worry about "Test tube babies" because HOMOSEXUALITY IS NOT A DISEASE.

However... Christianity can be thought of as a neurological disease.
... and I think treatment is way past due, unfortunately it's spread too far for containment and eradication.

Um, first this guy was a NAZI. The NAZIs are notorius pedophiles. Second the Catholic Church PROTECTED THOUSANDS of pedophiles. They say Gays and Lesbians are evil, sinners, then protect pedophiles.
