The war in Iraq is pretty much done, Get over that fact!
Yeah, and according to Bush and your government this war was over in May 2003.Remember the 'Mission Accomplished' speech?
The new Iraqi Government is now taking the raines and will run the show from now on get over that fact.
You mean the new Iraq puppet government right?
And have you not heard the news that the US want to send 30,000 troops to Afghanistan? Another country with no proper military who has held off
coalition forces for years.
4000 soldiers dead in 6 years yeah a shame I agree, far cry though from Vietnam, Korea, and WWII get over that fact.
You seem to be missing the fact that the enemy forces in Korea and WW2 had a proper standing army, with plenty of weapons.
Whereas the Vietnam forces were similar to the Iraq/Afghanistan fighters of today.Yet the war lasted over 10yrs,resulting in a humiliating US
defeat.
So I can see the comparisons there. But to compare Korea, and especially WW2,with Iraq,is just laughably ignorant.

I am not sure what thread you are reading but all I ever mentioned was the amount of dead soldiers and length of the war, as that is what was being
referred to in the original post that started all this. I really have no clue where you are going with all this other stuff but you cannot debate the
years and lives spent there. That is all I have. Go start a fight with someone else.

One down and a second one on its way

Well, maybe you can do it all night. I am not sure what it is. I brought up some facts. You don't like them so you decide to interpret them.
Unfortunately, they are still the facts that they are no matter how you respond to them. Sorry but that is how it works. So if pretending the facts
and reality are not there so you can get to sleep at night is what it takes, sweet dreams.

Ok,you lost me on the first point.
If a country with no proper standing army has held off forces with state of the art weapons and properly trained soldiers, then its a clear sign that
you aint winning.
As to your 2nd point, how dumb are you?
Iraq is going to explode into a full scale civil war as soon as the coalition forces leave. No war has been won,its still on going, but people like you
believe too much in the BS to even see that.
If you think I'm talking rubbish then name one country that America has gone into and successfully installed a democratic government, that stands on
its own,that is.
You won't find one.And why?
Because the US only installs US friendly puppet regimes.
Its a tactic that has been used for centuries.

I'm kind of jumping into the middle of an argument here, but to directly address your question...
Um...
Germany?
South Korea?
Japan?
I wasn't aware these three sovereign nations were "US Puppet Governments." Then again - I think I was asleep during that part of college
history.....

Returning to the topic for a moment.Having travelled to a few countries (including the U.S.) my take on this would be that people are the same the
world over, that is some good, some bad.The problem is that the rest of the western world gets the garbage aspect of american culture forced upon
us,which does not portray the average american in a good light.
I think Americans have deluded themselves into thinking the rest of the world want to be like them, sorry not the case. The people who are desperate to
migrate to the states do so for economic reasons not cultural ones.I don't think you can even try that"land of the free" sh*t any more no one is
buying it.
So to say everyone hates america/americans is wrong, you would not use the word hate against an obnoxious, disruptive and aggressive child would you?
you hope that the child will grow out of it one day.

Japan had a parliament and voting system before the Military dictatorship.(1932-1945)Democracy was not installed after the war by th US,it was not a
new concept.
Germany also had a democratic voting system before the war, ever heard of the Weimar Republic?
In South Korea the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea was established in Shanghai,China 1919,in an aftermath of March 1st Movement, which
coordinated the Liberation effort and resistance against Japanese control. This group founded the start of the South Korean parliamentry system, not the
US.

If it makes the rest of the western world feel any better we get the garbage aspect of American culture forced upon us as well. Despite the television
line-ups, not all of us are drunken fools that like to make asses out of ourselves in reality shows. Nor do we all live the way they show it in
sitcoms. I think many people around the world have a distorted view of who and what Americans actually are and I blame Hollywood and our government
for that.
I think Americans have deluded themselves into thinking the rest of the world want to be like them, sorry not the case.
It is my sincere hope that the rest of the world wants to be like me, an American, just as much as I want to be like the rest of the world. (That
would be not at all.)
The people who are desperate to migrate to the states do so for economic reasons not cultural ones.I don't think you can even try that"land
of the free" sh*t any more no one is buying it.
I'm sure there are many people who are "desperate to migrate" as you put it for reasons other than economic ones. People who come to the US to get
away from the oppression of their home countries come immediately to mind. So yes, we are more free than a lot of places. For instance, I don't have
to be segregated from the male population, don't have to keep my face covered at all times, and if I get raped the law won't consider it my fault
while letting my rapist run free.
Seems to me like we have loads of freedoms that some places don't have, but maybe I'm wrong. Maybe the rest of the world is utopia and all the
oppression and violence that I hear about daily going on in other parts of the world is just made up to make me think the world is going to hell in a
hand basket and that I have it pretty good here. Are there places that have more/different freedoms than the US? Most likely. Does that mean that we
don't have any freedoms? Absolutely not.
So to say everyone hates america/americans is wrong, you would not use the word hate against an obnoxious, disruptive and aggressive child would
you? you hope that the child will grow out of it one day.
Depends. Has that "obnoxious, disruptive and aggressive child" kicked you personally in the shins? Or have you only received second-hand biased
stories about said child kicking someone else in the shins? If it's the former, than yeah I'd say most people would use the word hate. If it's the
latter, most people would just shake their heads and wonder why the parents haven't taught the kid better manners.
But in keeping with your analogy, who would be the parents of the US? Should they be getting a slap on the wrist for not keeping their child in check?
Should we be put in time out now since some don't like our behavior? Or should the rest of the world come to terms with the fact that they aren't
always going to like what we do or how we do it, just as we don't always approve of what other countries are doing or how they do it?

Everyone hates America? I would imagine some do. I would also imagine most to not hate America. One has to remember what it is to be American and how
we got where we are and got as big as we did. It might all revolve around competition. In our way of life competition is everywhere. We have the
democrats and republicans competing. There is free trade where all business is encouraged to compete. Nature itself is one big competition to
reproduce. With competition you get more than one side of things. One extreme against the other. In posts when people seem to be degrading America
or criticizing it maybe its not that they are hating it , maybe they are actually helping America and what it stands for by allowing competition so
the greatest Idea survives at the end so the country would in theory would be filled with better and better ideas every time people have a discussion.

It counts for squat. Actually, Mexico is part of North America. , so....I'm guessing that you sorta hate part of North America, all of Central
America and all of South America, right?
And then, according to the OP, the rest of the world hates only part of North America?

Ok, so I'm geographically challenged. But Salma is half Mexican and half Lebanese, so cut me some slack. Besides, I promise to make up for it by
hating Canada, hating most of Mexico (except for my favorite Baja surf spots), and thoroughly hating Vermont, Massachusetts, New York, Michigan, San
Francisco and Cal Berkeley.
Now, I dare you to challenge my hatred!

Roll up your sleeves and read up on MacArthur and Eisenhower
I think you'll be surprised.
The new constitution would not have been written the way it was had MacArthur and his staff allowed Japanese politicians and constitutional experts to
resolve the issue as they wished. The document's foreign origins have, understandably, been a focus of controversy since Japan recovered its
sovereignty in 1952. Yet in late 1945 and 1946, there was much public discussion on constitutional reform, and the MacArthur draft was apparently
greatly influenced by the ideas of certain Japanese liberals. The MacArthur draft did not attempt to impose a United States-style presidential or
federal system. Instead, the proposed constitution conformed to the British model of parliamentary government, which was seen by the liberals as the
most viable alternative to the European absolutism of the Meiji Constitution.
Linky here
The Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany (German: Grundgesetz für die Bundesrepublik Deutschland) is the constitution[1] of Germany. It was
formally approved on May 8, 1949 and, with the signature of the Allies, came into effect on May 23, 1949 as the de facto constitution of West Germany.
Another linky
no they didnt create or introduce it but they sure as heck guided them
