Looks to me like the clouds etc actually cut into the outline of the object. Tht could be a result of Youtube, or that it is a fake. Anyway, looks fake to me.

I can't see any clouds ,just landscape.But you may have a point in that it could be fake as it does not match the commentary.

I don't know about the audio, but the video to be honest looks like a satellite video taped on end. Meaning with the exhaust nozzle facing toward the camera.
It also seems to be spinning at the rate it would be when it leaves the shuttle bay. As for the audio it sounds as if they are talking about something they can not identify that is floating by the shuttle that may be a piece of reflective foil from something. Like I say I am not sure about the audio...but I feel pretty confident about the video.

I’ve been able to figure out that the astronaut is Brent W. Jett, Jr. (Captain, USN, ret.) and the mission has to be the STS-115 Atlantis (September 9-21, 2006). Based on the unidentified male referring to him as “Brent”, then later the female refers to his as “Jett” . It just seemed logical to me to make that assumption.
Interesting, it seems to me that this is probably something jettisoned from the shuttle. It’s worth noting that mission control and Captain Jett seem more concerned about gauging the distance and speed of the item than what it actually is. If it was anything out of the ordinary I’m sure that their conversation would be more focused of the description.

My guess would be the audio is partly faked (female voice) and partly doctored (mission control).

Could be real but could be a sattelite (if audio is faked then thats why they can say its nothing like ive ever seen before) but all the same if it is real wicked video and audio!!!

Looks to me like a satellite being launched into orbit, as seen 'down the barrel' end on which would make sense as its lifted directly out of the cargo bay. Im not falling for cheap editing tricks and fake dialogue, lets see the original Nasa video from their archives
