Denver Plane Crash: Twitter as Usual

mashable.com

Should we be surprised that this weekend’s Denver plane crash was first reported on Twitter, from a passenger aboard the plane? Or is the fascinating Twitter stream, from user 2drinksbehind, merely indicative of how our news will break in 2009 and beyond?

It’s safe to predict the latter.

And yet, breaking the news is by no means the only role of news agencies: parsing that raw information, and filtering it, and making sense of it in a broader context, is where news organizations continue to shine.

Quick, go have a look at the Twitter message, in the raw, before it is censored.

It brings a good twist to the perception of a plane crash when viewed in the raw twitter message.

Some of the new mediums of communication are wonderful as well as a great voice toward freedom.

This is another link concerning the use of twitter. Simply an aamazing application. Too bad we did not have it during Gulf One and Two. lol.
