Worldwide Telescope Image Enomaly

<<  1    2  >>

Topic started on 19-12-2008 @ 07:02 PM by imd12c4funn

I just found a strange image in Microsoft Worldwide Telescope.
Here's where and how.

In Microsoft Worldwide Telescope,

Look at Sky,

type v838 MON in search in the following library:

Consellation Lines Figure library

Click on Orion,

to the left of HR1817, (star image) using

Imagery = Digitized Sky Survey (Optical),

there is a blue colored area that seems to be an outline of a dish or

such, with shadows of some hardware. cables etc... very strange.

Check it out.

could it be the reflection of the telescope, off of a UFO in stealth mode?
Also there seems to be a weird red starburst in the bottom center of the screen..what is that?

very cool photo

i wonder what the explanation for this one will be?

Someone should inform SETI. That's obviously a UFO. You can even see the steering wheel in the center, which is all the rage now in UFO manufacturing.

I am not sure what an "enomaly" is, but the anomaly appears to be a picture of a satellite.

My bad.
I would spell check more if I was so inclined, but, I usually miss the easy ones anyways.

Anyone able to view the "anomaly"?

By the way, I left it (telescope) open and after awhile, I got multiple Network errors and I had to manually shut the telescope program, and error pop ups. It was like it was adding files to the list off my drive.

we've been over this before.

It's the interior of the telescope that is shooting the image....

I doubt it's anything more than some kind of reflection. I see these "disks/half/quarter disks" all over Google Sky, and they're always blue.

indeed, it's just the reflection of the inside of the telescope. i was confused as to what these were myself untill i zoomed in all the way.

and to logician magician, that post wasn't really helpfull to the op at all, sarcasm rarely is.

As other have said this is a image of the actual telescope. I think it some how to do with internal refraction of the light... I'm sure some one could give you a more precise explanation. When you have your eyes examined by an optician do you ever notice how you can see the blood vessels in your own eye?? Cos that's really cool! and I think it's the same principle.

Well Here's a couple more cool finds on WorldWide Telescope

The first one is half orange half white.
Coordinates:
RA: 05h31m21s
Dec: -02:38:42

THe next, is Orange, witha hole in the middle.
Coordinates:
RA: 05h34m13s
Dec: -02:10:13

I don't think these are reflections from a telescope.

nope... they sure arent...

What do you speculate that they would be?

one looks like a galactic dust cloud, or a galaxy possibly. The two tone one has to be an unnatural occurrence. the question is whether it is a man-made, extraterrestrial, or accidental occurrence.
