It is the Rafale, can't tell for sure if it is the carrier version or not.

But anyway, the rafale got a twin reactor instead the saab J-35 got only one reactor.

why do all new European planes look the same? I can understand with the ef200 and rafale because the french were developing the ef until they split to make the rafale, but the grippen?

All European aircraft do not look the same, and if some do it is because it's the best solution to dogfighting, the Americans specialize in long range bombers due to the fact that a normal fighter will not cross 2200ft, 3000 ft of ocean.

Europe is smack dab in the middle of it all, so they do not need the type of aircraft we do, only countries that are planning on attacking over seas.
