Thats typical DOD/Pentagon "teasing". Announce some new piece of gear for this or that, then slam the door on minor details about what exactly are
the upgrades.
Why say anything at all then, just to stirr up suspicion and get everyone's expectations all up and then come crashing down?
IMO it would be better if they just didnt say anything at all.

L-3 communications announced that they have installed the first multi-intelligence capability in the EP-3E, but wouldn't say what new sensors were
installed.
A picture shows that an electro-optical/infrared camera system is not mounted below the nose, in front of the nose gear, as well as what appears to be a new SATCOM antenna.
This at least partly answers the question as to what the upgrades are.

L-3 Communications yesterday announced upgrading the EP-3E with its first multi-intelligence capability as part of the Pentagon's ISR surge, but declined all requests to elaborate on what new intelligence collectors were actually added.
Luckily, the company released a photo today of the first upgraded EP-3E that reveals at least two of the major changes.
