The region, including parts of Vietnam and five other countries, is home to 1,068 species found between 1997 and 2007, according to a World Wildlife Fund report released this week.

Isnt it fascinating that we are discovering new or extinct species everyday. I feel it gives us a window in the past and helps us understand the interplay of evolution on all of us.

Did we ever know of a footlong spider or a cynide spewing millipede. These discoveries go a long way to ameliorate our understanding of different species and how they used to look in the past and how and where is their place in the chain of life.
