Im ashamed of every American that thinks this is a funny,good,halarious or whatever idea. The President is still the President of our country. It is so disrespectful of the office of the president and our belief system. BTW, he was there to sign the official Allied Nation Papers that would make Iraq a full fledge ally, unlike 7 years ago when that would have been impossible. That to me was worth my sacrafice to keep my nation free and give that ability to others. Its very funny to me that two stories so far apart are on the front page of ATS, one of humility and love of a immigrant for his country and his chance and one of ignorance and hate for something taken for granted, freedom. Its a shame you dont understand what you have and the respect you need to have for it.

Frankly I am ashamed that we invaded Iraq under false pretenses.
He is the leader.. Yes, but that does not mean we need to respect him

Relax....every country has it's traditions of showing his anger towards public figures. Overhere (the Netherlands that is..) they trow a pie in the face of a politician they don't agree with. In Irak they trow a shoe...and in America you get shot from a book depository.....which is the worst..

Respect is earned. It seems our president's actions have been causing him to lose respect in the world. Since when is it wrong to question those in power and voice opinion if the actions are considered wrong or going against what many think.

This president, and a significant percentage of this administration, are criminals. Period. He has broken damn near every law and treaty on the books -- both national and international. He has damaged our country to the point it may not recover. He believes he is above the law and refuses to comply with new laws by using a BS construct called a "signing statement". It's a real possibility that some part of those missing billions (trillions?) will wind up in numbered accounts of these freakin' criminals.

And you want us to give this *trash* some respect?? Not a damn chance.

Ashamed of ousting a leader that had snubbed the UN and killed women and childred and fathers at his leisure. Thats really something to be ashamed about. Im sure there are millions of unheard voices that are grateful that are not under a tyranic ruler that kills at his own whim.

The mental issues I refer to is in many people who are so blinded by their anger that they would do something as completely retarded as sending their shoe to the WhiteHouse - again, vast appeal to some people.

DNA and foot impressions would give legal DNA collection.

Not that it matters, the FBI has prints anyways for CWP.
but, I for one feel that privacy rights will be exploited, and, whether elected or appointed, I respect the concept of the Presidency, administration policies and legal interpretations notwithstanding.

I would rather support a peaceful gathering or nonviolent protest march and Civil Disobedience.

An area could be designated where shoes can be placed, so the pile would be unboxed, (au natural), and documented on video.

Maybe Guiness World Records could be invited to add a record for the largest pile of used shoes in the world.

I would not volunteer to be the official shoe counter though.
