Well I for one don't blame you.

I did not vote for Obama but I'm not sorry he won either!
McCain did not win, You dont see me all resentful and angry. We needed a change.

Why? check out a thread I created.
America What happened

We cant change the fact that we went to war my son was over there. We also cant remove Bush from the history books that's something chairmen Mao or Stalin would have done.

The worlds economy is in the crapper! We now cant hide our heads in the sand, We for the first time as one race " The Human Race " World wide will have to deal with this economic issue globally!

That's new!

It's no longer a case of us vs them no matter where you live

Good, Bad or Indifferent The US President is someone the world looks to for guidance now maybe we have somebody who can think globally not just about his bottom line!

I think Obama has a good head on his shoulders I only hope and pray that he keeps it both physically and figuratively.

I'm not going to read the rest of the thread before I reply because I don't want to respond to what I know will be there, I want to respond to you.

I don't blame you for being jealous! Some of us DO realize how lucky we are. I am very excited and happy to see what will come of the next 4 years. I only hope it's not too late.

You've all got Barack Obama.

I think you all don't know how lucky you really are.

I think you're missing the point! Obama has to be on the inside, like Bush, Clinton etc, or they wouldn't have allowed him to have become the next president. The first time he even dares to step out of line he'll be assassinated and the blame placed on the next in a long line of Oswald like patsies. Mark my words, within the year ATS will be full to the brim of I Hate Obama, or Obama Is A Lizard,, threads. The face at the top may change but the agenda stays the same. . .

You shouldn't need to feel joy or sorrow based on who is going to be President.

If politicians followed the Constitution, government would not hold such power over the individual and his family. Read the document and you will see how little of a job these people should be doing. Instead politicians act beyond the scope of their authority and intervene in everyone's lives. They have no more good in them than the average person. Most of the time they are dishonorable cheats who disobey their oath of office. Today if a President wanted he could ruin the lives of countless of Americans doing what he believes is the “greater good”.

That is why so many follow these politicians to the ends of the Earth. We prop these government officials up on a pedestal and make them appear God-like. They have such sway over our lives that we need to worship the right one, or else a plague will fall on our houses.

The truth is that people should not be overjoyed when a President abstains from evil, because that is what he was supposed to do in the first place. When you have to cheer yourself hoarse over a mediocre performance by an office, then that office needs to seriously be examined and restored.

What am I trying to say? I am having a difficult time so I will try to sum it up.
Shrink the influence that strangers (also known as politicians) have in your lives. After that find joy in your loved ones and yourself.

Another poster put it this way about Obama in another thread:

Why would anyone question Obama?

He sat in a church with a racists radical preacher "Reverand" Wright for only 20 years, and had no idea that he was preaching hatred for whites, following the writings of James Cone, author of Black Theology and Black Power.

He kicked off his early political career with a "coming out" party in 1995 in the home of two radical homegrown bombers, Ayers and Dohrn, but had no idea of their past.

Represented ACORN and had no idea that it was conducting voter fraud.

Sweetheart land deals and significant political contributions from Rezco, and that's not over yet, but Obama had no idea this man was a crook. Now a convicted felon.

Al Mansour, a Muslim financier who helped Obama financially while at Harvard, but Obama was unaware or unconcerned of his background.

This can't be Obama's fault.

He's the President-elect. He had no idea!

In fact, this side of Federal penitentiaries, this is the most know-nothing SOB I've ever seen in my life.

Now add to that he didn't know anything about what was going on with his own Senate seat. All this and the man hasn't even been sworn in yet.

And people criticized George W Bush for being clueless???

If you want Obama, you can have him. There are some of us who would love to see him leave this fine country. I'm sure he'll do a great job screwing up the country he ends up in.

Thank you very much for the in-sight! We too are also extremely proud of President Elect Obama. Many of us who supported Obama during the beginning of the campaign saw the faintest shimmer of hope, but thankfully this time the victory was for the middle-class rather than the top percentiles.

I would like to add I am also proud of those republicans who supported Obama, or at least spoke against the outrageous claims of the McCain campaign. That was some really ugly bashing, and now the individual he was bashing as "co-hoarding with terrorists" is now the President of the USA. I don't think the McCain campaign thought out the repercussions of this childish behavior.

He's a man. Just a man. Just as we all are.
Part of the problem with humans is that we make Gods out of men.
It's dangerous. We expect them to do "wonderous" things.
He is not that powerful.
We are responsible for ourselves in the end.
I think that's the real lesson now. Be responsible for your own life.
Know how to survive.

Let's hope he tells the truth and uses his higher self in making decisions.
It's all any man can do.

Well now I am the one who's jealous....I want to BELIEVE!

Please help ME want him as much as YOU want him.

I would like to absorb all the material that will make me believe so if there is some material you could point me to that he has written, co-written, or that has his name on it, (besides his book) I would surely appreciate it.

Thanks.

you should decide to support your president no matter who it is, not when it is someone you "look up to". that's the funny thing now, everyone says 'put aside your differences and lets et behind this next president'- where has that thinking and attitude been the past 8 years?

Ha ha ha
this is precious ,, you are right however we DON'T know how lucky we are and you don't know what kind of luck we will have either. Their is NOTHING to suggest this man who is the most in inexperienced, un-tested, un-qualified, un-known, rookie freshman senator, will do anything worth being jealous of us over. The fact that he has left such a tiny digital footprint about his entire life, thwarting every effort to find out anything and everything about him from his original birth place to the fact he spits on every American by not being honest about that and that he conintues to lie about EVERYTHING from his relations with ayers, rezko, wright, rashid, the Socialist mentors he has had saul alinsky to the latest lies he has made about his support of the ILL Governor when he knew damn well the guy was a sleazebag.

Yep I can feel real lucky knowing we have the Black Afircan American Answer to George Bush, only this one has begun lying before he stepped into the oval office.

I would be happy about Barack Obama if it wasn't for the fact that he appointed Timothy Geithner to be his Secretary of the Treasury:

www.ny.frb.org...

President of the Federal Reserve of New York?

Once again we have a President that is NOT working for the American people, and instead, is working for the Federal Reserve. Just like most of our Presidents have since 1913...

Don't envy us, Barack Obama is no better than Bush.

do I hope that Obama does a fine job,YES! If he tries to take my firearms away, then we are going to have a very big problem.

I also want my money that I work for.

I am sorry but I am having a real hard time understanding this thread.

The man knows nothing about a mentor and pastor he was associated with for 20 years.

He knows nothing about the real estate guy from Chicago.

He knows nothing about the black panther guy.

He knows nothing about a relative illegally in the country and a close relative at that.

He cannot stand up and face allegations of his birth issue (which I don't think are legitimate, but, why cower from the issue), instead he hides from the issue for some unknown reason.

He knows nothing about the Gov. of Illinois dealings with his senate seat when his own wife is specifically mentioned in the FBI report.

Ok please explain how he is so much better than any other idiot we have been offered? Just because he is black does not mean he is a different politician, it only means he looks different. Kind of like when a company changes their packaging, "New look, same great taste."

Of what I have seen, he is either a liar or absolutely the dumbest person alive as he just doesn't seem to know anything about anything.

You are EXACTLY right.

Obama is not bringing "hope" or "change".

At least change worth seeing...

If Obama was any different then he wouldn't be supporting these Billion dollar bailouts, but since our Presidents work for the Federal Reserve everything that the American people wants automatically gets ignored.

I mean seriously, how can you fight INFLATION, with more INFLATION? You can't, the only thing you can do is CRIPPLE a Country's economy, which is exactly what the FED is trying to do.

Wow... all I can say is wow...

This thread on ATS. ATS, which has a tag line. Tag line that says to DENY not to EMBRACE ignorance.

Even as a joke it's very poor. Top level ignorance IMO.

I think it may be a little premature to proclaim how lucky Americans are. He hasn't done anything yet. What about him makes you feel the U.S. is so fortunate?

just the fact that you have him.

Then I have some ocean front property at the South Pole I'd love to sell you.

You can't even wait to see if reality matches the hype (hint: it never does)? Or does this thread mean you are in love with obama (an obamaphile) and just don't care about anything other than that?
