Obama says climate change a matter of national security

I would like to initiate a seperate debate as to what people feel the meaning of this mounting international consensus as to the security threat of climate change, where will this leed to? are we on the verge of a major catastrophe?

securityandclimate.cna.org...
Global climate change presents a serious national security threat which could impact Americans at home, impact US military operations, and heighten global tensions, according to a new study released by a blue-ribbon panel of retired admirals and generals from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines
Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd is also saying Climate change a National security Threat
www.news.com.au...
GLOBAL warming is now a "formal" threat to security, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said as he named an ex-SAS boss as our first national security adviser.
www.guardian.co.uk...
Climate change threatens security, UK tells UN
Britain has warned reluctant members of the United Nations that there are few greater threats to global security than climate change, delivering a stark message forecasting armed conflicts over scarce supplies of food, water and land
Council debates 'weather of mass destruction'
Some 52 countries lined up to speak in the debate which Britain initiated as it holds the rotating presidency of the council. Mrs Beckett told reporters before speaking: "This is an issue which threatens the peace and security of the whole planet - this has to be the right place to debate it."

However Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd was elected on the pretense that he would introduce a 25% carbon reduction by 2020 and be a world leader in the area of climate change however at a resent press conference he anounced a 5% reduction and only stepping up to 15% if other world leaders do so aswell this seems to conflict the statement of Climate change a national security threat
This in turn is provokiing national protests

What is the real agenda ?
where will this leed to?
are we on the verge of a major catastrophe?

This is a major concern for everyone!

This is either an official confirmation of our immediate threat to planet Earth, or a scheme to mine your wallets based on that.

...and are you spelling "leed" on purpose?

So now the weather is a national security issue huh? I'd be laughing my butt off right now if it wasn't so scary and for a lack of a better word stupid.

Just an excuse for them to legislate taxation and impose their will on us. Because the case for AGW is falling apart before their eyes.

"immediate threat to planet Earth, "
With climate change becoming the interest of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines and with a 52 country UN debate on the security threat of climate change. "Its seems to be an issue greater that taxes Surely international leaders would want a high carbon reduction target, as this would increase taxes. The 5% reduction implemented by Rudd will have consequences financially for householders
"Government says will push up electricity and gas bills by $6 a week. Electricity prices will rise by 18% and gas prices by 12%." business.theage.com.au...
Which though doesn't bring into account the flow on effect for the consumer from business, industry and transport translating into higher prices in the stores.
This is an apparent contradiction!
A national security threat list has been put together by the FBI
National Security Threat List
The FBI's foreign counterintelligence mission is set out in a strategy known as the National Security Threat List (NSTL). The NSTL combines two elements:

First is the Issues Threat List -- a list of eight categories of activity that are a national security concern regardless of what foreign power or entity engages in them.

Second is the Country Threat List -- a classified list of foreign powers that pose a strategic intelligence threat to U.S. security interests. The activities of these countries are so hostile, or of such concern, that counterintelligence or counterterrorism investigations are warranted to precisely describe the nature and scope of the activities as well as to counter specific identified activities
www.ntc.doe.gov...

and the whitehouse includes
Acknowledging that while we must continue to focus on the persistent and evolving terrorist threat, we also must recognize that certain non-terrorist events that reach catastrophic levels can have significant implications for homeland security.
www.whitehouse.gov...
with the forecasting of armed conflicts over scarce supplies of food, water and the implementation of climate change as a national security threat would it be prudent to conclude this as an imminent event?

What is the real agenda ?
where will this lead to?
are we on the verge of a major catastrophe?

An unnecessary wordplay
LEED "Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design"

The time is short.... the word about the Global Warming Money Grab Is Getting Out..... Making those who scheme to get rich and wield more power a bit concerned so they have to start implementing their schemes before to many people start dissenting.

This may be pertinent as to why international governments are now calling the issue "climate change"
However there are nation wide protests occurring in Australia due to Kevin Rudd reneging on his election campaign, platform policy and promise
for green house gas reduction and carbon taxing and tax payer funding for renewable research.
"Environmental groups, who have slammed the target to reduce emissions by five to 15 per cent by 2020, will sandbag the offices of MPs and rally in most capital cities."
