I saw this at 6am this morning on Aussie news.
Almost peed myself laughing
Shame that Bush ducked...if he had been hit there would have been a
change of underwear
This has made my day

That strange sadistic smile on Bush's face after someone expressed bad feelings towards him and he dodged it. He gets off on the response he gets
from people angered and hurt, and how he is "untouchable"

"I am surprised that his security team allowed this to happen, well at least the second shoe being thrown. "
His "security team" was there right after the second shoe, Bush's response, a "Nevermind..." brushoff of the guy.
Having watched the video I'd have to wonder, with regards the near immediate dismissal of security and seeming further interest in the "situation",
whether or not his interests were more focused on the questions, complaints and concerns of the individual or moreover That of Let's see what
happens next...
Just had that feel...

Or even a female Journalist with very pointy sharp Stilletos eh !
The translation of the verbal attack before the Physical one is being given now as:
Before throwing his shoes at Bush the reporter stood up and said,
"this is a goodbye kiss from the Iraqi people, dog".
Source
Looks like an Iraqi Kiss to your enemy is like a Glaswegian Kiss from long range!
Cant stop watching it, and as said he was quick in his reactions, he seemed to smile after the first one was thrown.

Yep, he did handle it well, and seemed to defuse the situation a bit, telling everyone to calm down, and sit down, to carry on.
Must say the only time I have ever been impressed with anything GW did...
I had a thought watching it reminded me a little bit of back in school, Like a food fight, imagine if another Iraqi in there had followed his
lead!!
Within seconds 100 odd pairs of shoes reigning down on him!
The first assassination attempt ever by shoes...
Elf.

Very lax security for a POTUS, eh?
Well ... there is still time for the 20 year POTUS curse to get him.
It could still happen.

Someone mentioned in their post earlier that the soles of shoes thrown at a person is the ultimate insult.
To you it may be the way a woman would vent her anger, to a Moslem it is an insult.

Hmmm,
Wonder how many other leaders of a country that he could throw his shoes at and still be alive 20 seconds after it was done.

The throwing of a shoe in Iraq is like spitting in the face of someone in North America.
You have to take shoes off before entering a mosque.

lol it's the must watch video of the year!!!
and the lame jokes after - that man sucks at being a president and sucks even more at the 'diffuse the tension' jokes. i just feel sorry for the
poor reporter who threw the shoes at him. I hope they go easy on him.
