Shoes thrown at Bush on Iraq trip
news.bbc.co.uk
A surprise visit by US President George Bush to Iraq has been overshadowed by an incident in which two shoes were thrown at him during a news
conference.
An Iraqi journalist was wrestled to the floor by security guards after he called Mr Bush "a dog" and threw his footwear, just missing the president.
The sole of shoes are considered the ultimate insult in Arab culture. (visit the link for the full news article)

Well on the Link you can see the Video of it!
Apparently Bush said they were A size 10
.
I am surprised that his security team allowed this to happen, well at least the second shoe being thrown.
Following on from the Shoe Bomber case from Britain and his attempt to light explosives in his shoes on a plane, this may have been a lot worse!
I wonder if all shoe heels are checked before such conferences?
Anyhow to the Arab world as shown in the article this is a real insult, and is equivalent to a westerner giving the middle finger or spitting at some
one.
Obviously the journalist was not a good aim, and I doubt very much if he will get a pass for any such future conferences, he might even wake up in
Guantamino Bay tomorrow, until it is closed down.

Knew there would be a thread for this.
Can't wait to hear Letterman and Leno's take on the event.
Regardless of what you think of him, twoshooz Bush has decent reflexes.

Say what they may about Bush (He probably deserves that)

If I were Bush I would be on my toes every time I went out into public, too. Especially in the Mid-East. That isn't the "Homeland" out
there.

I know it's against the rules to use acronyms but I have to make an exception for this one.
ROFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's what he gets for totally going to war with a country who was not responsible for 9/11, was not hostile towards America, did not have WMD, and
had nothing to do with the war in Afghanistan. Too many civilians died over this man.

Shocking how the reporter was able to miss that big head. Maybe he should have thrown his fists instead.
