The most shocking thing is that there are actually Bush supporters left??

What else does this guy need to do to your country before you get off the old, beat down, almost empty bandwagon? Seriously.

It's also funny that no one understands that there is people outside of your fancy homes (that you owe money on) who don't drive fancy cars (that you owe money on) who don't buy expensive, materialistic, fancy things (that you owe money on) that don't live life the same as you. Culture is something that has obviously escaped most of you. The message that was sent by throwing the SHOE and calling him a DOG is an insult of the worst kind in their culture. IMO, Bush deserved it and it is quite symbolic that he is ducking and weaving because of the actions of a normal man. I fear that dude will end up in Gitmo until its shut down and escorted off to the new ultra super security prison that they built somewhere else outside of U.S. jurisdiction having learned the lessons of not keeping Gitmo on the hush hush.

I also saw a report that this man wouldn't face punishment, it was considered a way to prove that now there is freedom to protest in Iraq where there wasn't before. Not surprisingly, they've changed their mind on that it seems.
I only hope that people don't loose track of him, because if the media let him fall into obscurity, he'll end up labeled as an "enemy combatant" and held in a cell without rights, without defense, and without ever seeing the sunlight ever again.

An Iraqi lawyer said Zaidi risked a miminum of two years in prison if he is prosecuted for insulting a visiting head of state, but could face a 15-year term if he is charged with attempted murder.
In Cairo, Muzhir al-Khafaji, programming director for the television channel, described Zaidi as a "proud Arab and an open-minded man."

"We fear for his safety," he told AFP, adding that Zaidi had been arrested twice before by the Americans.
"We fear that our correspondents in in Iraq will be arrested. We have 200 correspondents there."

Khafaji said Zaidi is a 28-year-old graduate of communications from Baghdad University who had worked for the station for three years.
"He has no ties with the former regime. His family was arrested under Saddam's regime."

also AlJazeera Network reported that up to a 100 Arab lawyers have volunteered to defend the shoe throwing Iraqi journalist.

I think it is a shame that the guy didn't have bigger feet and that he threw 'em like a girl.
Having said that, Bush's reaction was pretty cool. He went up a smidgen in my estimation.

Bush is the man.

His mastery the matrix is now proven as he clearly dodges shoes better than Neo did bullets.

Seriously though, has anyone else noticed how haggard and beaten he looks these days?
Is it me or does he look someone...broken?

I am compelled to pity him.

Pity it was just a shoe.
Where's Richard Reid when you need him?

What a humiliation for Bush to have to duck,
The most powerful man in the world, made to cower behind a podium thanks to one peasant man and his footwear.

Oh dear, you're hilarious. You are clearing trying so hard too. Nobody is laughing at Bush because of this, but they are laughing at people like you.

Bush has earned plenty of anger, but I think there are more constructive ways to express it than by throwing shoes. Or even writing (unintentionally) cartoonish quips about how Bush has been so symbolically destroyed. I am sure that the shoes striking the American flag should all make us tremble in fear, for soon the enraged Arabs of the world will not be striking us with shoes, but with bombs!!!!

I think the reporter should have taken a couple practice shots before this attempt. Very poor execution or sole tossing, in my opinion.

However, the P.I.E. Brigade seem to have their act together. BRAVO and kudos. Keep up the good work!

People keep saying this but I totally disagree. That dude CHUCKED them Chuck Tailor's at Bush's head! It's hard to hit a squirming politician.

Quick reflexes for sure.
He ducked the first shoe and looked like he actually briefly thought about catching the second.

Good to see Bush stood his ground, again.

He has only said what everyone else is thinking anyway. The only thing i am uncomfortable with is the insult to DOGS! What have those poor little #ers got to do with it? I heard that the US troops like throwing them off of cliffs!

According to the BBC... The man has been beaten black and blue whilst under arrest.

news.bbc.co.uk...

Fair play though... That was almost a good shot, but where the hell did Bush get those reflexes from?
