The problem in Africa is that you have to many religions killing each other off, t many tribes killing each other and to many trying to control the
Oil and Diamonds and Gold reserves of Africa. All the water in the world won't stop the bloodshed.
A great example of this is the movie Blood Diamond, when someone does take over a nation it is not to help that nation but rather to enrich themselves
enough to GET OUT OF AFRICA...
I don't think people want to get out of Africa, especially the leaders (they have it really good - beyond comprehension really) - it’s about POWER
- blood diamonds was a great illustrator of this point - human life becomes worthless to some people - and when they are allowed to get away with
doing anything - it becomes 'all corrupting' - keep in mind Africa is a continent and there are 57 separate countries here on a MASSIVE land mass
and a ~billion people.
Regarding religions and social groups (tribes is a bit derogatory these days - please note) you need to understand that many times countries were
divided up by colonial powers - they did not care about the groupings and conflicts that existed and put people together who did not get along for
centuries. - This is by no means an excuse for what goes on in some places, but it did contribute significantly, further to this, politicians (the
bane of existence) play on these sentiments when they rise to power, which fuels internal tensions - this happened in Kenya last year.
What Africa needs foremost is strong leadership - we need people of the stature of Mandela, of Obama, JFK and even Thatcher to instill some sort of
pride in these countries. - Take my word for it, the next century will be of Africa rising - For all the negatives, believe me when I tell you that
there is so much development here and so much hope its tangible.
