Multiple Kill Vehicle *Test Video*

Topic started on 13-12-2008 @ 07:20 PM by AnAbsoluteCreation

Overview: The Multiple Kill Vehicle (MKV) system allows more than one kill vehicle to be launched from a single booster. The system consists of a carrier vehicle with on board sensors and a number of small, simple kill vehicles that can be independently targeted against objects in a threat cluster. The integrated payload is designed to fit on existing and planned interceptor boosters.

All I can say is damn! I wonder if this is in response to the Soviet's idea of Missile Masking in defense of our star wars propaganda. I guess it took them a few decades to figure it all out.

This has already been posted. Not only that, this test was originally performed in 1989.

My bad on the late news. The couple news pages said it was new, on Dec. 5, 2008. I typed in Multiple Kill Vehicle and nothing new came up.

Thanks for the heads up.

I haven't been able to watch the video because I'm on a dialup connection, but the earlier test was tethered, and it was a different kill vehicle. From what I've read, this one was untethered, and hovering under its own power.

No not bad at all when I was younger I loved it, it really was way out there as far as tech but now I'm mad is this what they did with a Trillion dollar defense spending under Reagan?

But that’s not all there were other extremely high tech stuff that was under development that has not see the light of day that was shown on TV back then that still to this day no one has seen!

I forgot all about this and the others now I’m off searching
Thanks

None of the earlier ones were tethered sorry

You'll have to watch the videos when you get home or on cable/dsl it can be easily seen that they are not tethered and they are both under their own power.

The video that was released of the earlier test had a tether coming down from the ceiling attaching to the KV. The KV was hovering under its own power, with the cable attached. The cable was hanging loose, with slack in it.

I'm talking about a late 80s/early 90s test of a KV. It was hovering in the center of a chamber with a tether attached.

Didn't I just say a few posts ago that I can't watch videos? It's going to be at least the start of the year before I have a fast enough connection. I have to get on my truck first.

But going from the screen shot of them it's not any of those, not that I said it was.

The vids I posted were from that era and show no tethers and the commentator talks about their autonomy. I've seen the one you were talking about but these look very similar to the OP's just a little older in apearence
