Of course the human brain processes information both serially and in a massive parallel fashion.
The best known non human parallel processing supercomputers were created to break the cryptographic codes during WW2.
Supercomputers programmed to take advantage of chaos theory have improved weather forecasting accuracy since the 1950's. Determinism is ultimately
limited by random event cascade however.
Moving beyond serial base grinding mechanical calculators to personal computers that could network was an important milestone. The WWW certainly
allows for some very interesting Artificial Intelligence tools that could be used/misused for predicting how most people will react to future event
scenarios. The reading comprehension of such an AI system could be formidable, but would be no match for the neologistics of barking mad human
brains.
