This news was on Itar-Tass today, I also read yesterday that China is very interested to buy large number of new Suhoi 35 fighter planes in near future.

So they are investing to Air Tankers and to new fighter planes...

MOSCOW (Itar-Tass) -- At present, Russia is holding talks with China on a whole range of contracts in all directions of military-technical cooperation, director of the Federal Service on Military –Technical Cooperation of Russia Mikhail Dmitriyev told journalists on Friday, commenting on the results of the 13th meeting of the Russian-Chinese Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation that was held in Beijing on December 11.

Russia is filling orders and implementing all its commitments to deliver Il-76 military transport planes and long-range Il-78 aerial refuelling tankers to China, Mikhail Dmitriev told reporters. While commenting on the results of the thirteenth meeting of the Russo-Chinese Mixed Intergovernmental Commission for Military-Technical Cooperation, which was held in Beijing on December 11 and which he had personally attended.

“Discussed at the meeting, among different air force projects, were, of course, some questions linked with the implementation of the 2005 contract to deliver Il-76 transport planes and Il-78 aerial refuelling tankers to China. We told the meeting that Russia was filling the contract and that our country would implement fully all its commitments,” Dmitriev stressed.

“They (talks with China) may end in the near future, literally within one or two weeks, with the signing of very interesting and substantial contracts,” he said.
