(No, I am not a Nazi in anyway. I disgust this bizarre culture, ok?)

Many conspiracy theorists think that behind the 3rd Reich there was unmistakeably emelents of occult ideologies and even black magic.
This has more or less been proven to be an idea fetched from fantasy and romantic views of "good and evil". At least, no apparent solid proof has been given. But to the contrary there are many facts that determine that no such links exist from rational thinking and sereious reseach.

Being a romantic myself, and deeply interested in magic and the occult I have to fight back such thougts in my mind.
To me, the infernal darkness and evil behind the Nazi culture is just too strange to hail from the simple minds of regular men. Many political systems throughout the ages, such as the terror of the Red Khmers of Cambodia or Stalins prolonged reign of terror, but one have to admit that the outright evilness in the underlying manifest of Nazism is purely inhuman. The kind of terror they represented had its own distinct and uniqe twist to it, a twist of extreme brutality and disrespect for life itself.

We know that such organisations as Germanenorden and the Thule Society did exist, but their links to the rising of the 3rd Reich could be highly circumstancial. Many such societies have come and gone in all corners of the world and in all thinkable shapes. Still, one have to consider the fact that the mentioned societies had members that would quickly rise in the Nazi hiarchy.

What caught my attention some time ago was this unspecified quote from the notorious Karl Spiesberger, himself not a Nazi, but after some alledged insight in Germanenorden he said:

"The core of the Germanenorden is consistant of Devil Worshippers who through black magic gain contact with forces on an astral plain that represent inhuman and destructive energies. They are able to channeling these forces and implement them onto the material world."

The quote above is not verified in anyway but I got it from an encyclopedia covering the supernatural and occult written by the Dutch parapsychologist Martin Johnson (sorry for not being able to give any link but that's why we have Google!)

So, if all this connection between the occult and the 3rd Reich is all myth, fantasy and romantic visions, why the hell did they focus so much energy on Wewelsburg???

Input? Thoughts? Personal views or experience even?
Will be happy to discuss this!

Peace.

I have heard about those theories too, I don't buy them. Another poster shared a link to one of Hitlers paintings, of Mary and the baby Jesus. He was also a vegetarian (apparently for health reasons, and no doubt also because he had a great fondness for animals) yet I do not believe his top associates were expected to adopt that lifestyle.

There are also rumors and quotes regarding various views on sexual orientation (i.e. being homosexual did not necessarily make a man a bad person in the view of all top Nazi's).

I think they all had their own personal belief systems, some were probably more into the occult than others. They shared a common vision and perhaps they bought into some prophetic ideologies, but there seems to be a fair amount of diversity in other respects.

I don't know to much about this but here is a site that will help you I have not read much of it's contents and I am deffinatly not a nazi so here goes it
Germany, Hitler, the Third Reich, the Occult and UFOs

Hitler read all the books on mysticism and related topics that he could find. He believed the world would have to be 're-forged' to pave the way for the prophesized birth of a new Babylon. It is a known fact that Adolf Hitler read a book by Rosecrucian Grandmaster E. Bulwer Lytton, titled The Coming Race, about a subterraneous race which possessed supernatural technology and who, according to the novel, were intent on one day claiming the surface world for their own. Probably due to his fascination for occult legendry and of mystic tales -- such as the Bhuddist's traditions of a vast underground world called Agharti and the Hindu legends of a reptilian cavern world called Patalas, etc

There certainly was a deliberate attempt to incorporate "symbols of power" in the imagery and accouterments of Nazi Germany. As well as reflecting (perhaps) the occult beliefs of the Nazi upper-echelon, these symbols served to entrench a paternalistic state-image in the psychological unconscious of the German citizenry.

I recommend the book "The Mass Psychology Of Fascism", by Wilhelm Reich. Try to find an early edition - later editions are heavily edited.

Thank you for the good replies and links, will surely look into it!

But the Nazi-UFO's....hmmm, I dunno. A little far-fetched, even for me.

But regarding the symbolism; all countries use that. The correct symbols have a great impact on the mind of man. Not only political ones but also market-related and military (to mention a few). People are sooo simple when it comes down to it.

Exactly. And that's why I felt like I should post on a 'Nazi-symbolism" thread, even though I find the subject depressing. We should not allow distaste for the past to negatively colour our investigations into how history evidences man's basic nature.

Never forget. And, never stop questioning why. The present is too damn much like yester-year for this member's comfort.

Yeah I do not think the symbols necessarily mean they all bought into one philosophy. Now days large corporations may have teams that over-analyze most marketing campaigns, but I don't think the Nazi's were that over-organized in the 1930's. Some may have chosen their symbols for a reason, while others would go along with it.

A lot of the stuff they did was in fact trial and error. I recall watching a documentary that discussed the early experiments in efficient killing, and they tried several not so great methods before coming up with a couple that worked well. One early attempt at efficient mass murder ended up with body parts hanging in the trees (some type of "clean killing method" that caused the victims to explode unexpectedly), and it created an uncomfortable situation in which some were tasked with cleaning up the mess.

The nazis where obsessed with the occult, and if you get into it, it can be very bizarre, but i will leave it there. I think there is alot we the useless eaters do not know, and i can see why alot of the stuff is hidden for only a few.

I have just the thing:

Nobody is iin any doubt that Adolf Hitler, leader of the Nazi Party, was one of the most evil and dangerous men to have come into power in all of human history. The legacy of death and suffering that he left behind him is staggering. Approximately six million Jews were slaughtered, primarilary in death camps, as part of the final solution- almost two thirds of their world population. It is also important to remember he murdered a large proportion of Europes population of gypsies, Seventh Day Adventist, Jehovah;s Witnessess and Socialists.

During World War II, some sixty million soldiers we mobilized across Europe, the Americas, Russia and Far East. Almost a third of them were killed. The total death toll for the war has been estimated at around 52 million people- 18 million soldiers, 16 million civilans killed in military action, and 18 million people murdered in the death camps. Hitler lurked behind all this death, the lynch-pin of the entire war. These facts are horrific enough that surely no conspiracy can compete- but there are suggestions that Hitlers ultimate goal was not to unite Europe under his rule at all, but simply to cause widespread death and destruction to appease his Satanic masters.

Brother of Death is the name given to a rumored world- wide coalition of primary satanic organizations. Each organization has, as its logo, the skull and two cross bones, the emblem that we must commonly associate with pirates. The German Branch of the Brotherhood of Death was allegedly the: Thule Gesellschaft, or the Thule society. Centered on a semi- mythical land from ancient times, the legend of Thule shares certain features with that of Atlantis. The land of Thule is supposed to have been the cradle of the Arayan Race.

In 1919, disguested by the way that the German Government had "thrown away" World War I, Hitler joined the Thule Society, which at that time was led by Dietrich Eckhardt. Whne the Brotherhood of Death began there ambitious plan to reshape the society in a more controllable form, there end goal was the survellience and monitioring of increasingly isolated and mallebale population. Europe was identified as a potential flash point for a useful war. Germany, having lost a major war, was ripe for destablization, and Hitler, whom Eckhardt believed to be the Antichrist, was chosen as the obvious leader to initiate the gigantic conflict and death required. This would scar the human psyche so deeply that people would become paranoid and withdrawn, and once isolated they could be manipulated into giving up autonomy to the Brotherhood and its evil masters.

The brotherhood of death believed firmly that contact with ancient powers of spiritual evil- the devil- was not only attainable but very desirable, and that by following the dictates of there master, they could acheive great earthly power. They used sexual prevertions and practices to fuel there magical operations, which made there spells and rituals phenomenally powerful and opened channels of communication to the forms of evil.

By Tapping the power of evil, the Thule society was able to manipulate the conscienceness of the German people and bring the Nazi party to prominence. By appealing to the basic human psychological programs of hatred, fear and greed, the Nazi party was able to divert the current of evil into the minds of usually decent people, and foster the politcal climate that led to Hitlers Rise. Once he was in power, it was frighteningly simple to steer the world into a gigantic war, with the death camps providing the incredible amounts of magical energy needed to change human conscienceness forever.

Eckhardts final act was said to be Hitlers initiation through an astonishingly sadistic black magic ritual that left the Nazi leader impotent. From then on, Hitler was forced to seek sexual fulfilment through sadomasochitic release, and was it this blow that forced him into becoming the greatest monster we have ever seen this century.

If ancient powers of spiritual evil are behind the brotherhood of death and the Thule Gesellschaft, then that rather implies the devil. Given the devils well known propensity for misdirection, it seems likely that in the event that his plan succeed, the brotherhood would lose out along with everyone else.

Bavarian Illuminati, This age old German secret Society is often thought to control everyone from the Mafia to the Knights Templar. The Illuminati were the power behind many occult orders in the pre-war Germany and may have been Hitlers ultimate puppet-master. It is recorded that Heinrich Himmler was closely involved with socities linked to the Illuminati.

On his Death bed, Dietrich Eckhardt is said to have announced: "Follow Hitler; he will dance, but it is I who have called the tune. I have initiated him into the Secret Doctrine, opened his centers of vision, and given him the means to communicate with the powers." Given that society continues to get more fragmented, violent and subjugated by television, dispite the fact that it is in no ones interest, not even those of the worlds governments, the Brotherhood of death could be said to be doing a particularly effective job.

The USA to has a society with a logo of the Brotherhood of Death-Yales Skull and Bones soceity rumored to have been started in the 1800's as a U.S Lodge of a German university-based soceity. President George Bush (Senior) belonged to this group, as did his son and many other important figures in Amercan soceity and poltical circles.

To dismiss the holocaust and the evils of the Nazi empire as a simple tool for generating magical energy seems somewhat offensive to those who died. In addition, the circumstances surrounding the rise of the Nazi party are well understood in sociological terms-tragic, but hardly mysterious.

Special thanks to David Southwell and Sean Twist for there detailed file on the subject and I highly recommend there book: Conspiracy Files: Paranoia, Secrecy and Intrigue.
