Jesus said something along the lines, "I give my life...no man takes it from me."
So in a sense, it seems clear that Jesus killed Jesus. (Now Jesus was a Jew...so, in that regard you could say a Jew killed Jesus - but I think Jesus
statement stands on its own. No? )

Let the bible answer this question
Matthew 27:15-25 (Amplified Bible)
"15Now at the Feast [of the Passover] the governor was in the habit of setting free for the people any one prisoner whom they chose.
16And at that time they had a notorious prisoner whose name was Barabbas.
17So when they had assembled for this purpose, Pilate said to them, Whom do you want me to set free for you, Barabbas, or Jesus Who is called
Christ?
18For he knew that it was because of envy that they had handed Him over to him.
19Also, while he was seated on the judgment bench, his wife sent him a message, saying, Have nothing to do with that just and upright Man, for I
have had a painful experience today in a dream because of Him.
20But the chief priests and the elders prevailed on the people to ask for Barabbas, and put Jesus to death.
21Again the governor said to them, Which of the two do you wish me to release for you? And they said, Barabbas!
22Pilate said to them, Then what shall I do with Jesus Who is called Christ?
23They all replied, Let Him be crucified! And he said, Why? What has He done that is evil? But they shouted all the louder, Let Him be
crucified!
24So when Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but rather that a riot was about to break out, he took water and washed his hands in the
presence of the crowd, saying, I am not guilty of nor responsible for this righteous Man's blood; see to it yourselves.
25And all the people answered, Let His blood be on us and on our children!"
What do we learn from this.
1) Pilate the Roman Governor tried to release Jesus, and he was a Pagan this equals less guilt.
2)Roman Soldiers also just following orders, also Pagan.
3)Less educated Jewish people mislead by the Jewish Clergy, again less guilt
4)The religious Jewish clergy who forced Pilate's hand, are the guilty ones, they knew better, they had the scriptures to tell them.
So not all the Jewish people are to blame, I would lay the real blame with those God and Jesus view as having no chance of forgiveness, some of the
Jewish clergy and Judas, they all knew better, and followed a selfish course that violated the Holy Spirit anyway.
Matthew 12:31-32 (The Message)
31-32"There's nothing done or said that can't be forgiven. But if you deliberately persist in your slanders against God's Spirit, you are
repudiating the very One who forgives. If you reject the Son of Man out of some misunderstanding, the Holy Spirit can forgive you, but when you reject
the Holy Spirit, you're sawing off the branch on which you're sitting, severing by your own perversity all connection with the One who forgives.
Accurate knowledge of truth places the highest level of accountability.

I do find it interesting in that as he was crucified by the Roman soldiers, who were just doing their job, it was Christ who implored, "Forgive them
Father, for they know not what they do."
They were just the tool. The priests of the Jews are the guilty.
I've heard it said that the blood of Jesus is on the Jews and that is reason enough to hate the Jews.
My savior was a Jew. Born a Jew, lived a Jew, and even died a Jew.

The Nationlistic Religion of the Jews Put to death the Son of God because Jesus was going to take away their "chosen people" idealization. One must
wonder would the christians alow for such a behavior being that so many of them are uneducated like the "common" Jews that screamed Jesus blood be
on them and their children.
Regardless of the higher understandings of "God". I'd not say that it was "God's" Plan to kill Jesus in that way, however Jesus did say "Your
Will Be Done". So it shouldn't be argued at that point that was God's will.
However in understanding higher messages, the points are always still a dressing on the side. The Religious Leaders of the "nation" didn't want the
"truth" rather then the dogma they themselves found confert in. The Men in the robes of religion did not want their positions taken away from them
so They Killed the Son of God.

In understanding of a "Loving God" there is no reason to hate.
I could argue that you're wrong about Jesus dying a jew. He might have been born a Jew, but didn't he die something else?

As some scholars are indicating; it was the Sadducees. The Pharisees were bitter towards the Sadducees and the High Priest.
There was a division in how both believed and functioned. The Pharisees were more committed to oral law while the Sadducees were more traditional as
their lineage went back to Aaron the brother of Moses, and the Temple of utmost importance and its duties (maintaining structure and tradition).
Jesus constituted a threat to the Sadducees as he was not their idea of Messiah and in their belief; the Messiah ended with, or was fulfilled with,
Hezekiah. So Jesus would have been considered a heretic or false prophet.

Was it ever claimed by him that he wasn't Jewish?
He was crucified as a criminal, but he was still Jewish, I believe he was referred to by some of his apostles as Rabbi.

Well there are dule aspects to the term "Jewish".
I'd argue that he did in fact distance himself from the nationalistic self centered religion of the jewish people that is a founding stone of the
jewish "peoples". Though you'd not have to be born "Jewish" to become Jewish, you'd have to be looked at in differing shades of personalized
bias reality depending upon who you were dealing with as to your orientation.
However from my perspective it is clear that "Jesus" rejected the assumption of what a jewish charactor should be for the higher truth of the father
of all.

MODS PLEASE REMOVE THIS POST NOW!!! This is racists and outlandish. Can we HATE ALL CATHOLICS for what some did during the inquisition?
How about all blacks for what some Black Muslims are doing to some in Sudan?
How about all Whites for what they did to Blacks in early America?
THIS KIND OF SPEECH IS NOT PROTECTED!

i liked your post.
However, where you missed in your assertion is that each culture you referenced had their own messenger of God in which they believe. So Jesus was
just the most popular because the west spread it more effectively.
Plain and Simple. Well, not so simple.

Again for those that can't read or want to post half Bible verses let me clarify...
SIN KILLED CHRIST, YOURS AND MINE!
Next, Pilate told Christ that he had power over his Life and Death and begged Christ to give him something to release him... To which Christ RESPONDED
-"You have NO POWER over me that MY FATHER in Heaven didn't give you...
That takes the Jews and the Romans out of the equation don't it?
As I stated, SIN KILLED HIM...

I see everyone has mentioned most:
Judas: someone had to betray him
The Chief Priests & teachers
Pilate
Herod
Yes, some of the Jews, but also consider this;
On reaching the place, he said to them, Pray that you will not fall inot temptation." He withdrew about a stone's throw from them, knelt down
and prayed, "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will but yours by done." An angel from heaven appeared to him and
strengthened him. And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.
Yes, all of the above is true, but Jesus himself OFFERED up his body for the sacrifice that was to come.
So, YES WE ALL ARE GUILTY!
Peace,
Grandma

I get that Jesus died for sin, it had to happen. But it doesn't absolve the humans that conspired to make it happen, and they were Jews.
However if you know the bible and history, even after God still favored the Jews for a very short period of time, after the 1st century all special
favor and status was gone.
As has been stated, a Jew died for our sins.
The blood of our children part was paid in 70CE when Jerusalem fell, it doesn't go beyond that.
In 2008 Jews have no special favor or curse. They are viewed as any other race.

The Messiah was to be born a Jew, of the lineage of David. Mary's lineage care from David, as did the lineage of Jesus' earthly father Joseph.
So if you want to get really technical, Jesus was both Jew(man) and God, born Jew(man) and God, lived as Jew(man) and God, and died as Jew(man) and
God.
That better?
This is what I was alluding to earlier. There are those who somewhat justify their hatred or dislike for Jews by blaming the death of the Christ on
Jews. I still content that my savior was born a Jew, lived a Jew, and died a Jew.
Those so-called Christians who hate Jews seem to forget the nature of their Savior.

The Jew is a shortened name of Judah. Yehuda is "Celebrated"...the lions whelp. Since this is Gods word to all, lets apply it to all, and one so
that, it is in all and with all through the one.
So, we have "Celebrated". The Celebrated betrayed Jesus who's name is also a code. His name means, Self Existent Salvation....the one we reject.
The "celebrated" cried out, "let his blood be on us and on our children" and is the exact same thing we hear in the "Christian" churches. "Let
his blood cleanse your sins". Because the church is in complete ignorance of what they are doing Jesus cried out, "Father forgive them for they know
not what they do", not realizing they are killing themselves, by forgoing the Living Host that God is glorifying them in who they reject as salvation
who is "Self existent".
If freely you were sold, and freely you are bought back...you were always free. Who told you you were naked? Did you eat from the tree I instructed
you not to eat from.....no wonder I can't find you, you're dead...just as I told you.
What people need to know that is so important is that the names are code words of sorts or parables. They speak of character attributes of what is
favored by "The Living God" who is always living.
He does not hold one man special, who he does hold on to are those Doing His Will, for when you are doing his will, you are his will and the father
and son are one.
"He has no form, that we may behold him", "He is numbered with the transgressors" "He is Taken from Prison and Judgment" "by HIS KNOWLEDGE he
shall JUSTIFY many." "He does not cry out in the streets....(Get saved!)" "As a lamb is lead before it's shearers, he did not open his mouth"
"He is in the world, but the world knows him not".
Anyways, just another take. Learning what the original words fully meant, is where many are lost in Babylon or confusion. You will find the story you
learned is living and not in a book.
"The never ending story"....Peace

I would disagree that the Jews don't still have a role. But I would agree that Daniels 70 week Prophesy was fulfilled to the letter and about 3 and
1/2 years after Christs rising to Heaven the Jews stoned Stephen one o the Apostles and at that time, as Daniel Prophesied, the Gospel was taken from
the Jews and given to the Christians. But lest we forget two things and get proud.
We are grafted into the Branch, Israel
And remember these words also, the Christians got the Gospel to bring Jews to Jealousy...
Oh yeah one more, Jesus told the Jews he would not return to them until they called his name. This is important actually because the Jews think it is
blasphemy to say God's name and so this one will be interesting to see happen. It is actually important if you rad the Gospels many times he says
Cast out, heal, baptize etc "IN MY NAME" if they refuse to use his NAME how can they do these things?
