Type [i mg]Your Image Url Here[/i mg] Without the spaces in between the i's!

Make sure your image has been uploaded to a place or website by yourself! I recomend doing it here in the memCenter!

No problem Just remember that it does cut off depending on the size of the image! If you do an elongated one like mine you would be able to put some text underneath it!

Hi chilli.theone, I think I've got a solution for you:

1) Click on the MemCenter button, to go to your profile

2) In the "Avatar URL" field copy and paste this line (without the quotes):

Your avatar should look like this correct?:

I hope that is the image you are after and it works ok

Yeah basically, the imageshack links that the provide are only suitable in certain circumstances. For avatars on this message board you need the direct URL to the image. I just looked at the broken link in your image and extracted the direct URL from that.

i would highly recommend the avatar and signature thread

Signatures:

A maximum of five lines of text, with any graphic image counting as one line (only one image is allowed).
:

GIF and JPEF file formats for any image with a maximum dimension of 500 pixels wide by 50 pixels tall. File size is not to exceed 25k, and animated GIF's are allowed.

(emphasis mine!)

sorry when I read you title I thought you were asking about steganography, an encryption technique that lets you hide embedded messages, documents, etc. within a normal-looking image. Very James Bond type stuff yet rather easy to do... well never mind looks like you figured out the answer to your real question...

Using *url=http://www.myspace.com/threewhiteguysandablackskater]*img]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/uploads/ats64223_SkullyGroupCoverBanner.gif*/img]*/url] (replace * with [ ) in my sig produces the banner, and it is hotlinked... but to the original image... WTF?!? It's REALLY irking me. Any ideas what's going on?

Try replacing the first "[img]" with a "[imgl]". only the first img-tag. See if it works
