Not that it is necessary to an intelligent human but sure.
Name one single scientist, namely the supposed professor's at Oxford whom he debated, who fumbled over an answer to this man's foolish debate.
I did watch these videos and let me tell you something, this is a certain form of debating. I don't know what it is called, but it happens when an
individual makes you feel STUPID for not believing him. He also uses JOKES and HUMOR to completely poke fun at legitimate scientists that are one
billion times more intelligent and one billion times more credible than he will ever be.
That is not using the facts. Also, for the sake of the debate, science is NOT a religion as he states it is. Science is the study of the world using
mathematical algorithms which do their absolute best to describe the world in an absolute, true, and proven manner. Despite his jokes surrounding the
world being created from dirt, he is completely lacking any facts that support his own belief that God created earth and that the earth is only 6,000
years old. None what-so-ever. Weighed up against the scientific evidence for evolution this guy looks like a fruitcake.

For a minute, I am going to pretend that this even matters. I really don't
know if we evolved or were spurt out the *snip* of some galactic giant.
So someone please enlighten this galactic shard of cosmic poop (or former
monkey in a tree) and tell me why one over the other is better.
Are there pro's and cons to evolution?!
Are monkey's that live in trees so bad?!

Take some personal responsibility for yourself and your on actions. Satan is not behind every corner. The only person here that I see behaving in a
truly non-Christian manner is you. You are the only one that refuses to listen to reason.... yes reason.... which you have shown little of thus far.
If you mind is so closed to any opinion besides your own than why even bother posting. Go to church and preach the choir. Personal beliefs are fine,
but don't shove them down others throats for the hell of it. As I recall Jesus at least had a modicum of respect for those around him that disagreed,
he didn't just call everyone ignorant sinners. Before you go around casting stones, go look in the mirror. If there is a hell you stand more of a
chance of ending up there than 90 percent of the people on this site.
Think about who is more likely to end up in hell?
a) Someone who doesn't believe in God/Jesus but treats people with love, understanding, and respect... and actually listens to the opinions of others
while articulately and respectfully expressing their own.
or
b) Someone that believes in God/Jesus but does everything possible to be the antithesis of what Jesus taught.
Well b would describe the type of attitude you have. Get off your high horse, stop name calling, and realize that it is you that is behaving in a
highly ignorant manner. May YOUR GOD forgive you.

Agreed, despite some interesting ideas, he is using this as a weapon in the war between science and religion, not about accrediting himself, but
discrediting others. For me, I believe in evolution to a point, I do think that we did start to evolve, but I believe there are some massive gaps that
just don't seem right and until I find some evidence, thatleans me either way, I'll keep trying to figure it out.

I do have to disagree here, science, or at least MSS is becoming more and more like a religion, most of it is highly theoretical and specialised that
it really is a matter of trust and belief, you have to trust them to believe them and I don't atm.
I hate it when people try to debunk things though, like it's ever going to happen?!? lol live and let live.

I havent even debated this guy, and I'm already confused. I guess my ignorance is getting the best of me.
I'm a bit disappointed that this "official debunking" relies on youtube videos.

Unless you factor in the amount of time that is far beyond your comprehension. Or...care to share with us which creation myth or religion is less
"far fetched?"

I am amazed that some people are still trying to push the work of Hovind on others.
This guy has been debunked time and time again, and shown for the charlatan that he is. He has no formal education that qualifies him to use the
title "Dr", has no formal scientific education or professional qualifications. He has even been criticised by more credible young earthers, that
have real Phd's and real educations, as he is such an embarrassment to their entire movement.
To the OP, please, please, please do a google search on Kent Hovind and read up about who and what he is before coming on a site like this with a
superiority complex, deriding others with greater intelligence than you that have actually done research into these matters.
You will find that ATS has some quite clever people as members, who would be more than happy to debate your theories should you ever decide to get
into a real debate instead of criticising those who disagree with you, and blabbing on about "watch part 3", "just watch part 3", "but have you
watched part 3?" ad infinitum ad tedium.
Just coming on and spouting Hovind's "FACTS" does not a good thread or discussion make.

The reason evolution is not a religion (in my opinion) is because although scientists say that the universe came to existence due to the Big Bang,
they do not yet attempt to solve where the exploding material came from.
This hilarious Christian attempt to make science look stupid is saying "you believe in the beginning dirt [that exploded], and I believe in the
beginning God".
Really though when you think about it even if you believe the Evolution theory 100% through it just means that God didn't create us humans, and it
also doesn't mean that Jesus Christ didn't die for our sins. It isn't refuting the fact that the matter in existence before and during the Big Bang
could have been conjured up by intelligent life!
That's how you can tell that this is a Christian agenda. It's not simply the belief in God, or Jesus Christ, that they want from you. They want the
whole sack of potatoes. This video proves how far they are willing to go to disprove modern day science, which I'm not saying is 100% accurate.
Science always has its issues. However this man said he believes every word of the Bible in a literal sense.

It is impossible for evolution to be a "Religion".
A religion requires a deity or deific pantheon structure to worship, people who believe the theory of evolution to be true believe in science, they
may also believe in String theory, Special relativity, or quantum mechanics, but once again this does not make any of these scientific fields a
"Religion"
Also although I believe that a significant event occurred far in the Universes history, perhaps "the big bang" as it has come to be known, I do
disagree with the termanology of "The big bang".
If theory holds true then it began as a singularity (very small, not big), and given the absence of air there could not have been a "BANG". I
therefore suggest that the big bang theory be renamed to - The Exponential Expansion theory.

GREAT THREAD, there is more than Kent Hovind also that debunks Evolution, search Google Video for Total Onslaught Dr. Walter Veith he is GREAT
too...
And remember that GOD said about those that refused to believe in Creation. He told us WHY and WHAT would happen to them..
The truth of the Creation is before them in everything they do but they Love Not the Truth so they will perish in the lies...
It isn't that they weren't told, it is that they refused to live their life as GOD directs them. They would rather have this life to live from their
own rules and they owe nothing to their Creator, but he owes them nothing at death but Judgment.

People are so ignorant of how much the biological sciences have described what we know about ourselves and of life. For example, look at our
mitochondria. The mitochondria is the energy producing organelle in our cells but has many features bacteria have. Mitochondria have circular DNA and
ribosomes that are characteristic of bacteria. Not only that, you can take the genome of the probacteria Ricksettia and make a few inversions,
deletions, etc., and get mitochondria DNA. All this support the theory that mitochondria came from bacteria that developed symbiosis. People who bash
evolution have no idea of the complexities involved.

see i dont want to be rude but why are people purposely being ignorant?
kent hovind has been debunked time and time again with his scientifical knowledge being proven completely false and even immensely stupid, why would
you purposely believe someone who has been proven wrong again and again?
i really dont get some people.

If God and Kent Hovind are buddies, I see no advantage in bludgeoning my brain to death with creationist garbage just so I can be in Heaven with a
bunch of brainless believers.
Please God, send me where all the interesting folk who think for themselves go. And the gays and pets and Buddhists and Hindus and Pagans, I don't
want to be anywhere they can't go either.
It seems some folk in this thread think God would prefer them to Mother Teresa, if mother Teresa holds the Catholic Church's belief in evolution.
