Calgary and Edmonton are very close to some military bases. And where many mil-games are held.

Having a bunch of military around suddenly isn't new, or different.

CFB Suffield and Wainwright.

I think that a proroguing of Parliament is pretty far from the SHTF. You all make it seem like Stephen Harper busted into the House of Commons with an AK under each arm and told everyone else that he's the Parliament now.

Attempting to cut the funding of opposition parties was a badly timed, poorly concieved political move. Nothing more, nothing less.

Star for juniperberry who actually gets it. The Liberals and NDP want a stimulus package because that's what they do! They take your tax dollars and give them away without expecting anything in return. This is just an excuse to stimulate people into voting for them - because they can get some "free" money.

Bio-terrorism.

It just keeps coming up and coming up in the media (otherwise known to CTers as the voice of Satan).

Over the last year or so I have seen numerous references to the danger of, the possibility of, the inevitability of, a bio-terror attack. The message. Be prepared, be prepared, it could happen, it will eventually happen, it's inevitable.

Two or three years ago I read an interesting story in one of those little community freebee tabloids that start up and disappear a few months later. (They are usually full of authentic journalistic energy for a little while until grim reality and bankruptcy set in.)

They were reporting on a military exercise that had taken place somewhere in the western suburbs of Toronto (where I live). A crowd of volunteers were being hemmed in by the army in a mock exercise. The 'protesters' were shouting (and this is what got my attention), "Give us drugs! Give us drugs!"

I didn't see this exercise reported on by any other media, but it read very real in the one little tabloid. The story wasn't tabloided up. I'm sure it happened.

I'm sure there is another wave of horsecrap on it's way from the globalists. Maybe January will be the time. I think the Obama presidency is going to be an eventful one.

As Monty Python said, "Now for something completely different."

EDIT: On a side note, I live in Vancouver BC, and along part of our Trans-canada highway they have errected this huge posts, that will not doubt hold signs.

Whats odd is that the posts used are large wood columns, they are unlike any other road sign along the highway.

Additionally, though the posts have been up for well over a month, still no signs have been hung. Another odd feature is that they seem to be randomly spaced, theres one section that appears its going to hold 3 of these signs (within a couple hundred feet), then you'll drive a couple kilometers before seeing the next sign posts.

My only thought on them before this point was that they may soon hold Olympic information, but the way they are orientated on the highway they face the East bound lane (most of them), if US troops crossed the borders along the southern border of BC these signs would be perfect for directing their movement since they would HAVE to pass them (unless they choose the peace arch).

I live in Abbotsford, British Columbia Canada, East of Vancouver. There isn't much or any military activity and protesting going on..yet atleast...BUT I do remember seeing a big military truck(green/camo painted) somewhere but i cant remember where it was headed towards or anything, I didnt pay much attention but after reading this, i remember seeing a military looking truck drive right past me. I did think in my head, whoa, a big truck clearly military/army but didnt think any further.

I have also noticed those big wooden posts on the highway and have just thought they are most likely some new boards going up for the olympics.

Haha this one is real funny, I must admit this is pure unadulterated vitamin fortified BS! I live in Chilliwack right next to what was once the biggest base in Western Canada. Well guys I hate to tell you but its closed all we have left now is the base in Comox and some other small naval base near Victoria.
Here is the pure dirt, there are no drills going on, no protests nothing. No miltary buildup, no American tanks or soldiers, no Russians, no Chinese. Nothing, normal day. I will post if anything unusal happens, but in this neck of the woods there aint going to be anything happening, Oh maybe after that big earthquake we DIDN'T get the army be coming to assist us.
Any of you guys ever go outside once in a while?

Our government got away from the central bank NWO people for at least awhile. The Canadians have always been under the thumb of these people.

LOL. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Are you even aware of how the Fed is ripping your country apart?

Man I wish I could give you ten stars for that post. One just isn't enough.

I live not too far from Suffield (where Prince Harry is stationed) and have seen absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. The Prime Minister porogued parliament (actually it was Michelle Jean, not the PM) because that abortion of a coalition using separatists were going to bring down the government and take over. THEY are the ones trying to seize power, not Stephen Harper. Imagine that, a party of separatists that want to break up the country, taking part in governing the very country they want to split up. And, they had support of at least a third of the Canadian electorate to boot! Canada is the most infuriating country on the planet I swear.

The document listed in #4 of the OP's post is...

Canada-US Civil Assistance Plan

As far as I know that is from an official Canadian government site.
Canada Command? Maybe some sort of Canadian Homeland Security?

Northcom mentions it on their site as well...

U.S. Northern Command, Canada Command establish new bilateral Civil Assistance Plan

And I also found this, which after scrolling down I found that the SPP has been canecelled and replaced by the PPA - "Pathways to Prosperity in the Americas". It seems like they took the much-disputed SPP and broke it up into the Civil Assistance Plan and Pathways to Prosperity.

Obama’s agenda for change and the 2009 Summit of the Americas

I'm in Toronto now, but have also lived in many parts of the country.

A quick consensus emailing connected pals asking about some of the issues raised here:

Nothing out of the ordinary with police, RCMP, military, except ongoing clawing back of their budgets, manpower availability, etc. Downsizing fast tracked recently with economic concerns.

Jack Layton, head of the New Democratic Party, a holdover from when socialism was a more viable political alternative, is the instigator of this poorly planned attempted coup d'etat by the losers in the last election, pulling in the Quebec isolationists to get to the magic number majority.

Canada will suffer badly if it's seen as politically in turmoil right now, as investment money pours into the country for the very reason that it is perceived as a far more stable place economically and politically, than the US.

Harper just a not very canny right wing politician trying to keep his ship going forward.

The US has absolutley nothing to gain by controlling the Canadian government. They already extract advantageous arrangements for resources, security, etc with Canadians footing the bill for maintaining their own infrastructure.

A mega-conspiracy here might be interesting - but nothing to indicate such.

If it wasn't for McCain choosing Palin as a running mate, I would have to say that this is the biggest blunder in the history of politics.

This thread is all speculation. The Colin Powel thing hasn't happened yet.Nothing has happened yet.
The economy is doing its thing and parliment will open in Jan.(after the thing that hasn't happened yet)
I think if TSHTF they would have no choice but to open up parliment to deal with whatever emergency is happening.
If they didn't then they would most likely have lost the confidence of most Canadians.
This was a power struggle that went awry and if something happened these assholes would be pushing each other around trying to look like the guy who solved it and saved the day.

I have not seen any military in my province of Saskatchewan. What a load of crap this story is.

The lesson from this thread that I am taking to heart is that if someone can hype up information as the info in this thread is hyped then I must view other information in this manner.

The only thing going on in Canada right now is snow blowing, hockey, ice fishing with Rye Whiskey and stolking your fire.

Pure BS.

So far as the military goes I have seem military convoys roll through Saskatchewan a few times. First time I was about six living near Val Marie, in the middle of no where. That was about 1966.

Since then I have seen many as I was married to Canadian reserve...lol.

Maybe all of ATS is nothing but hype??

Except the global contraction. Yet even that is not as bad as I read in the news...Wyoming is doing very good, Saskatchewan is doing very well, and I am sure that other places are booming as well.

Peace
WR

This whole thing is absolute BS! There is nothing to see here people, move along.

If anyone was acting out of order, it was Layton and Dion moving against a duly elected minority government. Taped evidence of an NDP caucus meeting was released (whether legally obtained or otherwise) showing Layton conspiring to topple the government any way possible.

Should any actions of any party be deemed illegal or treasonous, it is the Opposition, not the conservatives who are at fault here.

Great links. Thanks for that! I had no idea that our two countries had such a totally integrated plan for responding to civil emergencies.

What concerns me about it is the lack of clarity about what an emergency would be. Some of it is clear, for example when they talk about disasters like hurricanes, but its much more vague when talk about "mitigating property damage".
That could mean responding to protesters or demonstrations. Maybe the word should be "quelling demonstrations"?
While this cooperation is a good thing on many levels, given the nature of the current US administration, integration at this level cold be a very risky business for Canadians.
Has the president not given himself dictatorial powers to deal with terrorism? Would he not see those powers as superseding all of the protocols of this agreement as well??

It's always the ability of the of the government to use vague and/or evasive language that bothers me in even the most mundane stories.

Usually that means they intend to have the option to go to extremes, whether or not they will actually go to those extremes. It's like their little built-in insurance policy.

The last real Canadian Prime Minister we had was Jean Chretien. He kept us out of the war in Iraq and was not in favor of the North American Union.

I just hope we are never considered important enough to pull one of those Mumbai-style shootem-ups on. I want our politicians only to go along (with the American agenda) enough to get along with them, as Chretien did.

Martin was on record as being a globalist. Harper went to a Bilderberger meeting when he was still premier of Manitoba. Ugnatieff defended the war in Iraq and the use of torture.

Face it Canadians, we've already got the disease.

That's what spreading democracy and freedom is all about. Do what we say, stay out of our way, get in debt with our banks, and do a lot of one-sided quid pro quo, or we'll add you to the Axis of Evil, and drop some regime change on your ass..
