Canadian Man Builds Himself Robot Girlfriend

That is sad, genuinely sad. What is worse is that there is probably going to be a huge market for this kind of robot in the future. Course no guy would in his life admit to buying one, but when a muffled voice from under his bed starts saying, "Ouch that hurts, what did you do that for?" when he manages to bring home a real woman. That man will have a lot of explaining to do.

course anyone see the irony with the OP being mybigunit?

Well if that's true then they must have full-on robot armies by now.

It disturbs me he designed a robot that says it can *feel pain*.
Somehow that is just too off the chart for me.

Have to admit though I LOVED the movie Bicentennial Man!

Im not a smart man but if Im not mistaken I think that was a shot....wait...wait...yeah that was a shot. Cant say I own a robobabe nor would I have a clue on how to build one but hey the idea does intrigue me. No more dealing with the crap that comes with women. You can have your one night stands with a real woman then have your robo babe do all your work for you....priceless.

I find it absolutely fascinating. However it seems like the I robot movie or that movie with robot kid in it.
If it went to far then could it quite possibly be that it may become more of a silicon world of characters?. Were robots would start to create emotional feelings such as love to make a connection to humans.
Possibly take it as far as making babies within the female robots, could it be possible the the films that have come on, that it is showing the possibility of the future?.

Humans could be come second class to robots because robots immortal.

what are other peoples suggestions on this opinion?.

Yeah, AI, what a great film such a sad one too...When does something have a soul? There's an endless amounts of possibilities when it comes to creating robots...it's having the time, the right ingredients and brain power to design...

I always thought all living things are just complex robots. Robots with the right complexity and chemical balance to hold souls. Who knows where our own engineering of robots might take us and them...a little scary but exciting.

I can't imagine this being anything near the perfect woman if it doesnt like having it's breasts touched...

...and it's weird and creepy, too.

Well, we're closer to telling God to return Adam's rib. Wasn't a fare swap anyway.

Be nice in an older model, this one's too young looking for me. Can she hold a whip

And I hope women all over the world are worried enough to start being more pleasant toward men.

Some dudes got a ton of them just sitting in his living room, kinda creepy.
Id like to build droids though, always a dream of mine. With some hard work you can make them almost human.

I hope I get to live long enough to see it.

I just read about this in the paper today, the body is from a sex doll he ordered from Japan.

So what, you can stay at home with 'her'? OMG, LMAO, ROFLMAOlol:

Yes the army has way more advanced technology than this, they recruit these type of minded people at the age of 7-10. Guess this guy missed out cause he just wanted to build lady dolls, lmao, lmao.

There are not too many people I know that are fond of that film, though I'm one of them, guess people just aren't ready to share a world without helpful robots yet. Though the continual movies, bicentenial man, i robot, ai, terminator and so on are slowly implanting that reality into peoples minds. I give it less than 10 years.......

I'm not sure whether is world will be ready to deal with that for a long long long time. As for the film I think that if your not too interested in the subject then you tend not to like the film...most of my friends think that it's boring but its fascinating for me to be able to imagine life along side robots... I put it on in the background as this thread reminded me how much I love it!

I think that much of the discussion here is based on the robot being a fembot, as a girl I'm biting my lip at some of the comments being made

WOW! I hardly know any chicks that are into this stuff, most just dismiss it as technology and a male thing, in the same way males dismiss jewellery as a chick thing. If you think these comments are 'lip biting' then you're either very turned on, lmao
OR
wondering what will become of the human race, Jude Law fullfilling every womans fantasy,
You should have seen the comments on a thread about a guy in Japan who buys life like dolls for 'sexual' reasons, owns like 30 of them and has spent in excess of $100,000 just buying them clothes, accessories and what not.

Spielberg has made some awesome films like Minority Report and many others I'm sure you'd enjoy. Check his work out, if you haven't already. Steven Spielberg

As far as robots taking over, humans currently have something they don't (at least as far as I'm aware - government)
instinct and feelings.

I would have serious paranoias and nightmares about some potentially low budget 'Lorena' nut cracker device like this in my bedroom. "Butter your toast" ? Anyone remember sex world? Bladerunner was even better.

10 bucks says that guy beats his robot wife. Why else would he program her to feel pain? LOL at self defense mechanics.

All right, I am going to be all boring and scientific here.

I imagine he has a bunch of robots from experimenting and for parts. Much like a junkyard. No one makes a perfect prototype on the first try.

And there is a good chance he doesn't have sex with it. He may see it for the creation it is. Maybe more like a daughter since he created it.Or babies it like a new car.

Though it is hilarious that my husband had the same first thoughts that all the guys did.
