Increase in Standard Deductions for 2008

A little news to brighten your day perhaps. I just got off the phone with the IRS and for 2008 only, if you file short form, they are going to allow up to $1000 deduction for home property tax payments, which will be added to the standard deduction amount. Every little bit helps. I haven't seen or heard this in the news so thought I would share it here.
