WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President-elect Barack Obama is likely to name Steven Chu, a physicist who runs the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, as
his energy secretary, three Democratic officials close to the transition said.
Did a search, didn't find this anywhere yet.
I thought sure he'd take The Governator, but instead he picks someone with no political experience, but who is apparently 'highly respected in
energy circles'. Not even really sure what that means, but it's GOT to be better than Arnold, right?
Here's the article:

Here's a link to Steven Chu's Wikipedia page.
Linky...AGAIN!!!
Apparently, there were minor shenanigans during a Pricewatershouse Cooper audit. Seems Mr. Chu had, contrary to University rules, received improper
honoraria, extra vacation days, money for moving, sabbatical credits, and a deferred compensation for which he was unqualified. That seems pretty
minor, though.
Final analysis; I'm pleased that we're getting a Nobel Prize-winning physicist as energy secretary. Slightly less pleased about his apparent
connections to BP (see the Wikipedia entry for more info). Also kind of curious as to how Obama came to this decision....
