The number of scientists involved is "30,000". A few facts from the (Dec. 15th) Washington Times are:
1.For the 1st time since the 18th century, Alaskan glaciers grew instead of retreating
2. In Fairbanks, Alaska,October was the 4th coldest in 104 years of record
3 in Reading, Pa. the temp stayed below 40 degrees for 6 consecutive days-the longest Nov. cold spell there since 1903.
4. A preliminary est. by the British Met office says 2008 will be the coldest of the last 10 years. The extent of global sea ice is at the same level
it was in 1980. The mean planetary temp as monitored by satellite also is the same as 1980.
5.London experience its 1st snowfall since 1934 and Ireland went through the coldest Oct. in the last 70 year.
