Thats so cool! If they can use the shield on satellites im sure it could be used on ground based vehicles as well

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion. There are times that I half wonder if Gene Roddenberry was some lost time traveler. :Lol:
We now have powerful hand held communicators, we're closing in on AI, cloaking is becoming a possibility, and here we have the deflector shield idea
gaining acceptance.

The idea of using various available energies, especially radiation would than be used for fuel and propulsion. It wouldn't need to be just as a
deflector.

They're working on it. Right now they have 3D printers than can build you a model of what ever spec's you put into it. It's a pretty fascinating
subject.

They can't replicate food yet, but give them time.

There was a documentary program on Discovery channel about a year ago discussing plasma energies being used to generate shields and barriers for
spacecraft launchbays and glass-less windows, like those seen in ST and SW.
So...more science fiction turning into reality. So much for the skeptic viewpoint of 'thats impossible'.
