It is difficult to deny any connections that Michelle and Barack have made during their rapid rise to stardom in Chicago. For either of them to claim ignorance regarding the politics at play in the WIndy City is ridiculous.

Why all of the sudden backpedaling regarding connections to Blago? Instant amnesia? Oops I misspoke. Must not have happened. I wish I could use that one when I get in trouble with my wife.

I do not find this at all shocking, the guy comes into politics out of no where, becomes PotUS with no real experience. That doesn't happen by accident.

What fascinates me, is not there there is a corrupt Blagovich -- which everyone knows about and Dems have wanted him gone for some time... but that the wheels of justice have become unfrozen, having been immobile now for 7.8 years.

We've had numerous real crimes and no response until now.

There seems to be a lot of assumptions here. That Pay-for-Play is pretty common for Governor appointments. If Obama were wanting to keep it quiet, well then he did a poor job. He didn't even give Blago anything in return.

If there is some shenanigans in the background, it seems that Mrs. Obama got appointed to something. Big f-ing deal. That is true of every damn politicians wife who cares to get involved.

Quit enabling this nonsense. Blaggo has got to go, and as a person who votes Dem more often than not, we are very happy to convict crooks from either party. But we also expect that there will be more troopergates to try and get this new President. Does anyone remember that the troopergate was totally made up and paid for by Richard Mellon Scaithe and that the troopers were let off on a lighter sentence from Check Fraud in exchange for their fingering Clinton? We all know Clinton was corrupt as well, yet no member of his cabinet was convicted of any crime, and after 8 years, hundreds of court orders, millions of dollars -- he was exonerated on all counts.

Compare this to people like Karl Rove, who engineered the incarceration of Alabama's governor. And won't even comply with a summons.

After George Bush, a dog with fleas has a chance at leadership. Obama is a cut above that and is eloquent. If a guy can come from nowhere -- well, that is a great testament to the "alleged" Democracy in America.

It's really hard for Democrats who only paid of their college loan while campaigning for President, to be corrupt -- but hey, if the Repugs can sling enough dirt, it might stick.

This is disgusting. I think we need an official spotlight on the Obama's private affairs before he takes office.

I think its justified how ex-presidents can earn a fortune through speaking events etc - but when their wives and family end up landing jobs like this it starts to stink a little.

Clearly the wall-mart vendor is looking to curry some favour or publicity by having Michelle on board - jobs should goto the most qualified person. She has less experience than I do - and I am a million miles from that industry.

The company can appoint who they like, but full marks to the media who make people aware of it so they can make their own mind up.

Michelle should step down immediately as I feel the first family should NOT take jobs. The earnings of the president are more than enough to support the family for the term - and they will never be short of money ever again. But for the term in office, it is just a conflict of interests waiting to happen.

Looks like the Obamas are not whiter than white afterall - oh well - always the next president. The dream is iver before it has begun - AGAIN.

When will we have an honest, just, morally sound president that will do right?

Many thought Obama would be this white knight - but look at the facts. He's another rich product of corporate america - his family apparently not above indulging the unjust spoils of political office.

Inauguration? Let's see if there will BE an inauguration. Remember the certification of the votes doesn't happen until next Monday, the 15th. A lot can happen in 5 days.

What's sad is it took something like this to happen to break the "Obama spell" - some of you I've seen posting really hard for Obama in the recent past and seem to now be posting thoughtfully and objectively where he is concerned. It's refreshing to see, to know that a lot of you do actually care more about the laws and well being of this country, not just seeing "the messiah" take office at any cost.

If the man is guilty then I'm sure the truth will come out one way or another. I have a feeling the Clintons will see to that. If Obama is not guilty, then fine, we'll move past this and let the man do his job presiding over the nation.

BTW - Michelle Obama graduated cum luade from Princeton and got her JD from Harvard Law School. She worked for a well known Chicago law firm and several non-profits. She was probably the most qualified person sitting on that board....so save the rhetoric about it being a pay-to-play appointment.

I thought the same thing. I was going to post asking exactly what Michelle Obama had done because all I can see is that Blogo made a comment about SOMEONE and No Quarter (who, I believe, is the first place to bring up Obama's eligibility) assumes Blogo was talking about Michelle...

And this means what? Even if he WAS talking about Michelle... is this supposed to link the Obama's to the Blago scandal? 'Cause I'm completely LOST as to how that happens...
