Anybody else having tech problems with ATS site

<<  1    2  >>

Topic started on 8-12-2008 @ 10:45 PM by jam321

Here lately I have been having my comp act up when I am on ATS. When I right click, the box disappears and then I have to refresh to see it again. Then sometimes when I open up something in a new tab, I can't open the new tab. I noticed I had the same problem at work. When I close ATS, I don't seem to have that problem.

Anybody having similar problems?

The only problem I have noticed is that once in awhile the site will lock up my browser and I simply restart it. I would say its probably all that flash ad content thats causing problems.

Cheers!!!!

YES! All of that....and it locks up, won't scroll and won't select when I left click. It's only on ATS. And it happens on both of my computers and they have two different operating systems and browsers. It works just fine every now and then, but most of the time I just get so frustrated I leave.

It took me forever just to be able to post this.

I keep getting a DNS server error or the site locks up...I usually run one of three abivirus software and it detects no infections. It just simply times outand goes to DNS server error.....

I knew I wasn't going crazy. It is going pretty crazy.

Very frustrating when you want to copy and paste and can't see the box. Also, rebooting is getting very old fast.

So far I have not had to reboot the pc, just restart the browser, which it does seem to be only on the ATS site because I have several browsers open on other sites at the same time and only the browser with ATS has the problem, the others continue to function just fine.

Cheers!!!!

yes, my right click menu only shows the border instead of the menu. When that happens I cannot even close my browser without ending the process in the task manager. I am using the latest version of Firefox BTW.

I use IE at work and have been having SERIOUS scroll lag issues with this site in the past week.

Most of the time I'm not logged in. I just pop in to check the threads every so often during the day. Is everybody else logged in when having these problems?

These descriptions are rather vague, and I've not had any troubles.

Is there anything specific, like a particular banner ad, that seems to be the cause?

Thanks for checking in, SO. I'll try to be more descriptive.

I don't pay much attention to the banners and ads, so I'm no help there.

On both computers (running different operating systems and browsers) I have had consistent problems with right-clicking. I will either get nothing and it will lock up or I will get the outline of the box (that gives you the options like opening in another tab, etc.). I am often unable to scroll down the page using the scroll bar, mouse, or arrows. I'm not sure if it's just locking up at this point or something else. I have also opened a thread in another tab and then have been unable to select that tab.

I have had another problem with mainly the one computer. A few times I have been unable to select (left-click) on anything (threads, forums, posts). It's like it doesn't even recognize that the cursor is there.

This has been happening very regularly. As I said in my previous post, I am on the site several times a day but often do not log in. I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Having similar troubles here. It's when I right click to open in a new tab. I can't see the white menu box just a vague impression around the edges. I close out dump my private data come back log in and I am good for a while.

No lock ups. I'm running the most recent version of firefox got all my updates. I've got a good running system.

I suspect it's the banners also. I will watch closer. Just glad to hear it wasn't just me.

edit to add: I've been logged in when this happens.

Often the side banner ad will show nothing but a white box and the top banner would be loaded but stuck, at this point the entire browser is frozen. Once I just let it sit for awhile but it did not do anything so I restarted the browser.

Not sure if that is the cause tho..ie the side banner ad. But will try to see if I can notice anything more specific.

Cheers!!!!

Good evening Jam. I did have several problems after letting Firefox update to 2.0.0.18. The screen was jumping up and down, much like a much earlier Firefox version had done. It had been fixed in that early release, but the problem occurred on 2.0.0.18 again. In addition, I couldn't open the full standard version of gmail, only the HTML version, another known problem with the .18 release, so I backed off to 2.0.0.17 and turned off automatic update, and have no problems anymore. I tried several times to re-install .18 with updates, but gave up, when the same problems appeared again, so I'm staying on .17 for awhile. It seems like the Firefox people have gotten rather sloppy lately with their new releases.
