I totally agree with you. People see patterns where there are none and make their own realities out of complexity. Perspectives on the moon are very difficult to understand especially using only photographic evidence to deduce conclusions.

It honestly is not that difficult to go to the moon especially if you have determined and motivated American and German engineers working tirelessly for it. American ingenuity under pressure is something that most people do not understand. Rather, they get caught up in mistrust of the government and bureaucracies.

As for it being a footprint on a set...whoever that is posting that needs to read up on the moon landings. Continuity? If it was filmed here on earth (which I do not think I could have been otherwise it would have looked different and they would have been caught by the russians [who already tried to prove the moon landings false but came away empty handed]) they would need to take more care to establish continuity than any other movie in history because of the amount of scrutiny from all other space programs. They wouldn't have to impress the masses who would believe almost anything; they would have to fool great scientists. Plus, that isolated footprint would mean that the "crew member" would have to make an astounding leap to avoid any further "hectic" mistakes.

Hi there,

Extraordinary claims (midgets or aliens using Nasa's boots ) needs extraordinary evidence for alien's sake. (even here on ATS)

Now, let's get to it...

Our two eyes are separated by ~6cm, each eye sees a slightly different
view of the world. The difference in the images of the world (or a 2D photo) projected to each eye is called retinal disparity.

The brain uses retinal disparity to create 3-dimensional reconstructions of the world, in this case, it is a picture and to add a little more spice to it, the terrain does not look flat : (Nablator : Perspective narrows vertical distance by 30% at 45°. Maybe the terrain is not perfectly level too, so it could add some bias to the perspective )

Can we rely on 3D (brain) reconstruction ? "Guess" not, just like we cannot rely 100% on memory reconstruction.

Cheers,
Europa aka Buck

EDIT : Well done ignorant-ape, u might not be as ignorant as you may think

We landed on the moon, and no matter how hard you try it just must hurt you deep inside that the moon hoax theory has been shredded over and over again. I guess the mirrors we left on the moon to measure the distance were left by robots, and all the other stuff we left there was planted.

Ridiculous.

Welcome to the Aliens and UFO forum. 99 percent of everything posted in here is pure trash, I have learned to live with it and pick my battles.

I'd have to agree with you. That was my first impression.

I think that the one that looks different only looks different because it had some dust dropped on it.

See this crop of a bigger version (from this site), with some change in contrast to show better the shadows of the dust.

(click for full size)

So, the only difference is that this footprint was not left untouched, it was somewhat affected by something, probably another step from the same astronaut.

I am still looking for more photos.

That is quite a claim coming from someone who has no idea what items in particular make me questiong this story anyway. You know it has all been debunked or "shredded" has it? Ok, then you should have no problem covering every questionable aspect of the moon landings. I am sure I will see in that list the items that I have an issue with. Go for it. I will be waiting.

P.S. are you suggesting that we have also been to Mars? We have put a lot of crap on that planet without ever having to go there so I am not sure what mirrors on the moon prove when we are driving remote control cars on Mars. Seems dropping a few mirrors in the right spot on the moon could not be so difficult.

The picture intrigued me, so I took a look through the article. In regards to Jack Schmitt's suit, it appears there are 2 sets of boots.

The first set, which seem to match your picture, can be seen at different angles here: history.nasa.gov...
and here: history.nasa.gov...

Then there's references to the Lunar boot here:history.nasa.gov...
With the soles shown here: history.nasa.gov...

The last picture matches Mike's 9 cleat picture.

Darn, and I thought we were on to something there.

Thank you, but I have no problem with these posts. Mike is fairly reasonable and discussing these things is what either puts them to rest or puts them into the possible evidence realm.

It is important these things get vetted somewhere or they end up unchallenged as they float through the Internet.
