This is similar to many pieces of information heard before but it's great to see a quality study actually done on the Schwab Hale and Gleissberg
cycles (11, 22 and 88 years). I'm not saying this debunking man made climate influences but it is certainly important to understand the whole
picture.
Speaking from family history we have been farming in this region for more than a hundred years and the drought before world war 1 was terrible, just
as bad if not worse than this current one. It was humbling to read letters from my grandfather about it.
This discovery has important implications for future drought predictions in Australia and in countries in the northern and southern hemispheres
which have been shown to be influenced by the sunspot cycle. Further, it provides a benchmark for long-term SOI behaviour.
