Do street lights go out when you pass underneath? If they do, maybe you are a
SLIder.
For years I've noticed the street lights. It kept getting more and more frequent. Up until 2007 it was only once a week with streetlights. As of
today, It's almost once a day. I even interfere with other objects now as well. My cars remote unlock and alarm won't work when I'm in a
heightened emotional state (stress, anger, etc) My table lamps flicker. I'm even getting shocks on metal objects every day at least 3 times an hour.
So, are you a SLIder? What are your experiences?

This used to happen to me nearly every other day last year but it seems to have cooled down some. I still get it every now and then and I've noticed
it before last year. I'm not ENTIRELY convinced that this is something paranormal but I'm guessing that there's more to it than coincidence.

I always just thought it was a ghost or something. Street lights yes. (always thought they were on somesort of power reduction timer)
Lights turning on/off by themselves (check)
TV the same (check)
Toys (check)
Bulbs blowing out (check)
Good news i am finally something! I feel like Steve Martin in the Jerk running around with the phone book yelling "i am somebody, i am somebody"

That has always baffed me. I used to run in the early mornings when the street lights were still on. It never failed that at least one or two street
lights would go out when I approached - (I kinda figured that's what they did when I wasn't around, too.) Glad to finally know!

I started noticing this about three years ago and thought I was crazy. Over the years its started happening more and more. I haven't thought about it
in a while because I don't go out a lot at night anymore, but on Sunday I drove 10 hours and it happened about six or seven times. I'm glad to hear
I'm not the only one.

I have been doing this for many many years now.. At least 10 that i have payed attention to. I have tryed to debunk it as the car, or other things
but there is nothing in common except me. (different vehicles over the years)
The other morning, i pulled up to the corner and shut 6 street lights off.. it was great...
I also usualy get shocked by things.. mostly minor but some times you can see the spark.
I've always wanted to research more but not sure where to go or what to look for.
I would love to know how to do this on command, would be a cool trick to be walking down the street and have the lights go out as you pass..
and it would be great to learn more... anyone know of a good site with more info would be appreciated.

thanks for all your replies, i think i've gotten to the point where i can do it on command. im hitting about 60% when i try with street lights. i
tried it with one for an hour and got 12 out of 20 times. then i moved 3 lights down which hadn't gone out/flickered since i started on the other
one. i got 14 out of 20. im getting closer just think of it, Human EMP generator

YES! This is one of my few weird, out there stories that I mostly keep to myself.
When I was 15, I was adjusting the HSYNC and VSYNC inside my computer monitor with it plugged in (like an idiot), and I fell over my own foot. My
entire palm smashed onto the contacts. I blacked out, and came to with a blackened hand and really dark, starry vision.
I noticed soon afterward that lights everywhere often turn off when I am anywhere near them, inside or outside. It seems to happen with more frequency
when I'm upset or worried. When I change light bulbs, they burn out within seconds. If I touch those weird plasma balls, they glow so brightly that
they look like they will explode, and people go "WOW, it never did that before!"
It also effected my sense of hearing. I can now "hear" electric appliances, and tell extactly where they are in any building. I can instantly tell
if there is a tv or computer monitor on anywhere in a house, even if the sound is muted. There is also a weird squealing noise that comes out of
electrical sockets, and in some buildings I can hear it coming from the walls.
I don't see how getting shocked could have possibly caused that, but it started immediately afterward.

Well I have nearly been hit by lightning twice. I get shocked when I vacuum, touch the car, light bulbs burn out often on me, even the darn
fluorescent ones, that are supposed to last years.
I used to work in a machine shop where I had to put parts in salty water and send a charge to them to clean them up, and I could feel a shock go up my
body the entire time and had to change to another station.
I think I just attract electricity. Lightning really scares me, as I have been so close to being hit, where all my hair came out, also have had my
air conditioner hit twice.
Street lights I have only noticed once in a while, but the one outside my old house would turn on and off all the time, figured it was defaulted,
never really thought about it.

Wow, my significant other fits the bill:
• Appliances such as lamps and TVs go on and off without being touched.
• Lightbulbs constantly blow when the SLIder tries to turn them off or on.
• Volume levels change on TVs, radios, and CD players.
• Watches stop working.
• Children's electronic toys start by themselves when the SLIder is present.
• Credit cards and other magnetically encoded cards are damaged or erased when in their possession.
He’s in the military, so I always assumed maybe weird stuff like this happened around him because “they” put a chip in his bran or something.
Who knows though, maybe he’s a SLIder?
His “smart card” has stopped working before with really no explanation, he has to use it at work everyday, slides it into a device so his computer
turns on. When we use to ride in a car with a friend who has Sirius radio her radio use to mess up a lot, but then when he wasn’t in the car with us
it was totally fine. Maybe I should make him do some test? How do you test a SLIder?
EDIT: Forgot to mention his cell phone stopped working, AGAIN. His cell phones often go to a black or white screen and stop working. Glad to know
there might be reasons behind these occurrences, a phenomenon that has a name. Very interesting.

This is an interesting subject, about 2 years ago when I still lived in France, my best mate always said that it happened to him, after a while I
started noticing it happening when walking through the streets with him, not every lamp but quite a few of them flickered and sometimes went off
altogether. The strangest was one evening in summer when there was a group of us at Mc Donalds, we were eating sat outside, then he received a phone
call which involved some kind of dispute with someone else, one of the guys with us tried to talk him out of going to sort it out which I guess just
fueled his anger and at that point the big "M" sign one the wall behind us which was lit flickered for a few secs before going out completely. I
know it wasn't my imagination cos one of my mates really did get freaked out so much that he suggested we leave. Before that the sign was fine.
My theory is that some people give off higher energy vibes than others and may sometimes interfere with electric fields. Earlier I read up on
something about "rainbow children" which stated something about lights flickering when they are passing by.

Ya I am a slider..I go sliding down the sidewalk to my car when there is ice all over it!!
Serously tho, each individual emits some level of EMF, also can be observed with Kirlian phtography. Even non-organic objects such as coins emit an
energy field.
It has been shown that with hightened emotion such as anger, fear, and even laughter or joy, this field can intensify, enough to cause interference in
some sensitive electronic components.
Kirlian Phtography
Two coins.
As to the street lights flickering on and off when passing under them, that can also be affected by your aura if it is strong enough to cause a
resonance with the pole or ground wire on the pole, sending that energy up to the switching circuits that control the street light, making it
flicker.
Cheers!!!!

Interesting.
I did not know this had a name.
Street lights tend to go out when I drive under them. I have noticed this more this past year as I drive to work in the morning while it is still dark
outside.
I also can't seem to open my car with the fob with one click, it usually takes four or five tries...this could also be because my car is stupid (but
it is a 05)

I have days when NONE of my electronics work properly and it is DEFINITELY related to how much stress I happen to be under (and no, I am already
stressed out before my appliances go haywire and not as a consequence of these malfunctions). Most of you mention street lights but I'm out so rarely
at night in areas with streetlights that I couldn't tell you how I affect them, if at all. I did see a documentary the other night ("My Shocking
Story" series) about a woman who claimed to be a slider and they actually TESTED her in a lab. So, now I at least have confirmation that there is
something to this and it's not necessarily all in our heads. Depression and anger seem to be my main triggers and I have no control over the way
electronics react to me at all. I wish I did! Oh, the things I could do then!

Our aura's tend to inensify the most during stress or anger. It can also go the other way too. joy, happiness, pleasure can inensify the aura as
well.
Our bodies are electrical/chemical in nature. As seen in the Kirlian photography, all objects have an aura, organic and non-organic.
However, and obviously, non organic objects cant increase their aura's without some outside influence, like magnetic fields or static electrical
charges.
These aura's have a frequency range in which they emit. These frequencies can interfere with electronics and certian appliances that happen to
operate at those same frequencies. Its bascially like taking one two way radio on a given frequency, and another on the same frequency but much more
powerful. The higher powered radio will override the lower powered radio. Its the same with our aura's effecting electronic devices.
Cheers!!!!

For all the thousands of people that say they can turn off street lights, there has never ever been a case where they could demonstrate the effect
under controlled conditions.
There are simply one of 2 things happening.
1. In an effort to help cut energy bills, many cities use sycling timers in their streetlights that turn them off for 10 minutes(varies) per hour. If
you are walking, there is a one in sixty chance that the light you are walking under will turn off when you are near. Now with the literally countless
streetlights everywhere, some are going to go out on you.
2. Allen Klostermeyer, manufacturer's representative for Lighting Specialists Inc., pointed out that when a sodium (amber) bulb nears the end of its
useful life, it will go into an off-and-on sequence:
"When one of them starts to "die", it requires more voltage. This will cause the lamp to go off temporarily;
when it cools down, it will come on again for a while. Eventually it will die completely."
Again,. with the countless streetlights everywhere, and the VAST majority being sodium bulbs, it'll happen.
If you think it is getting more and more frequent, I'm willing to bet it's because you're spending more and more time outside at night.
There is nothing paranormal about it.

Iam exactly the same way. Anything electronic around me..goes haywire or doesn't work at all when I get angry or stressed out. But "Sliders" isn't
the meaning I thought it was.
To me, "Sliding" is the dreams I have where Iam in the body of another person, but I see through their eyes, even though Iam fully aware of being
myself still, just experiencing their actions and thoughts at the same time.

Tho true as to the power saving cycling of street lights and life time of the sodium bulbs, I have seen brand new streetlights affected by this
phenomena many times, including from me when I get near one if my aura is strong enough due to being angry or extremely happy about something..usually
the happy part is because I got too drunk or something!
The reason why they dont show any evidence in controlled tests is because the aura does not show itself very well in un-natural occurances and because
the test subject knows its a test. Its the same as seeing what frightens you in a scare test and you know anything thrown at you to try to scare you
is a test, therefore has very little to no effect because you already know..its a controlled test.
Cheers!!!!

I used to think like you guys, it happens to me a lot.
Now I think(think not 100% sure) it's a couincidence. Try watching these same streetlights from far away, I bet after some time, it will go off.
Really try it the next time you walk past one and it turns off. Wait a few minutes and see it happen when your not by it.
Question thou, do you guys also have many light bulbs break when you try and switch the light on?
