Its becomming more and more apparent to me at least that the Sec State position was the cost of Hillary backing off and not pusing a floor fight at
the DNC.
It makes sence. She was iffy to run again in 2016 and as a Senator she would have peaked. As Sec State she gets new life IMHO.
Im guessing that one camp or the other put forth this idea and a deal was struck

I'm sure some kind of deal was put into place for her to accept this posistion. Honestly, I was kind of thinking they offered her the posistion to
appease her hunger for the White House. They let her play SoS and she won't try and do something stupid like run for Pres in 2012. She is vindictive
enough to try it.
Wish I could have eavesdropped on their behind the door meetings.

With all the bad blood that was boiling between Obama, Bill, and Hillary during the primaries, I was surprised that Hillary dropped everything so
quickly. Suddenly she was backing Obama like their was no tomorrow. I know she didn't campaign for him as much as people thought she should have.
However, Obama was winning most of the way anyway. I agree that Hillary and Obama struck a deal to keep her in check. Never heard who took care of all
that money she owed.

She'll be too old. And I know this sounds sexist ... but .... men age better then most women. The bloom will be off the rose for Hillary by 2016.
I've said this elsewhere so i'll say it here -
The pick of Hillary - she can do the job.
But I'm surprised that Obama picked her.
WASHINGTON (AP) - It wasn't too long ago that Barack Obama and his advisers were tripping over one another to tear down Hillary Rodham Clinton's
foreign policy credentials. She was dismissed as a commander in chief wanna-be who did little more than sip tea and make small talk with foreign
leaders during her days as first lady. "What exactly is this foreign policy experience?" Obama said mockingly of the New York senator. "Was she
negotiating treaties? Was she handling crises? The answer is no.

This was possibly one of the topics discussed at this meeting in June.

No question in my mind that a deal was struck. Politics as usual. Some change eh?

I'm wondering when the deal was struck, not if. Was it at the DNC? Or after. Hillary's movements at the DNC are classic politics. Not beyond
the Clintons. It was Obama's night but Hill played it to her advantage.
