This is rarely talked about but I feel it should be investigated further.

On November 26, 1977, Radio BBC News (Independent) had it's signal interrupted. A voice came on claiming to be an Alien named Vrillon from the Ashtar Galactic Command. Until this day, the signal has never been traced as to where it came from and no one was able to provide any information on what happened.

You can hear the broadcast here:

The transcript:

This is the voice of Vrillon, a representative of the Ashtar Galactic Command, speaking to you. For many years you have seen us as lights in the skies. We speak to you now in peace and wisdom as we have done to your brothers and sisters all over this, your planet Earth. We come to warn you of the destiny of your race and your world so that you may communicate to your fellow beings the course you must take to avoid the disaster which threatens your world, and the beings on our worlds around you. This is in order that you may share in the great awakening, as the planet passes into the New Age of Aquarius. The New Age can be a time of great peace and evolution for your race, but only if your rulers are made aware of the evil forces that can overshadow their judgments. Be still now and listen, for your chance may not come again. All your weapons of evil must be removed. The time for conflict is now past and the race of which you are a part may proceed to the higher stages of its evolution if you show yourselves worthy to do this. You have but a short time to learn to live together in peace and goodwill. Small groups all over the planet are learning this, and exist to pass on the light of the dawning New Age to you all. You are free to accept or reject their teachings, but only those who learn to live in peace will pass to the higher realms of spiritual evolution. Hear now the voice of Vrillon, a representative of the Ashtar Galactic Command, speaking to you. Be aware also that there are many false prophets and guides operating in your world. They will suck your energy from you - the energy you call money and will put it to evil ends and give you worthless dross in return. Your inner divine self will protect you from this. You must learn to be sensitive to the voice within that can tell you what is truth, and what is confusion, chaos and untruth. Learn to listen to the voice of truth which is within you and you will lead yourselves onto the path of evolution. This is our message to our dear friends. We have watched you growing for many years as you too have watched our lights in your skies. You know now that we are here, and that there are more beings on and around your Earth than your scientists admit. We are deeply concerned about you and your path towards the light and will do all we can to help you. Have no fear, seek only to know yourselves, and live in harmony with the ways of your planet Earth. We of the Ashtar Galactic Command thank you for your attention. We are now leaving the plane of your existence. May you be blessed by the supreme love and truth of the cosmos.

Hoax or not,it would take a terrible amount of wattage to override five seperate transmitters.Probably over half a million watts to drown out the audio of the origional broadcast. Not an inexpensive feat. Also if the transmission were ground based it would have bled over on every monural device within the transmission area. The signal would have come in over anything with a speaker within a mile or so.

I believe if it was a hoax, it would not be a one man job. Surely there would be tons of people involved in it and it's been 30 years and no one has said anything and no one has been caught... Is it really a hoax?

I find it hard to believe that something can go secret for so long without someone letting someone else know or talking about it with someone else. It just doesn't fit my head.

I do not think it was a hoax.

I think this was a hoax. And it is not the only time this kind of thing has happened. In 1987 there was the Max Headroom Pirating Incident:

During a broadcast of the Dr. Who episode "Horror of Fang Rock" on WTTW Chicago Channel 11, on Sunday November 22nd, 1987, at around 11:15pm, a Video "Pirate" wearing a Max Headroom mask broke into the signal and transmitted one of the weirdest, unauthorized things ever to hit the Chicago airwaves.

Earlier in the evening on the same day, during the Nine O'Clock News on Channel 9 (Yes, a completely different channel) the Max Headroom Pirate also broke in - although it was for a much shorter time and there was no audio.

Needless to say, Dan Rohn (the sports reporter) was a bit flustered.

And no, he was never caught

max headroom is funny.

i have the same problem with ashtar as i have with all the other alien races that contact us, he doesn't actually tell us anything useful. it's just the same old help yourself first crap these aliens always spew.

if it's a hoax, it's a pretty boring one. if it's for real, well we could really use something a bit more meaty, specs on a zero point generator would go down a treat right about now.

This has already been discussed here, here and a few other places on ATS. Search is your friend

Well apparently Vrillon is British because of the way he/she pronounced evolution. A British pronunciation quite distinct...eh governor.

Do a search before posting!

If the transmission was interupting the original source, then the original broadcast should return as it stops. instead you can hear that the frequency of the radio is constantly changing in the background.
That means hoax to me.

This has already been determined to be a hoax, infact the pirated sgnal ony effected a very small area meaning the hoaxser ould be localized.

Or maybe he spoke that way because it was broadcast to the British.

i dont think it is because when i was young i had a phone that could project your voice to a similar level and something that would cost a LOT more would be able to do that. just my opinion.

Something I find interesting is that 1977 was also the same year that SETI heard the “WOW” signal. They have never been able to find the signal again.

Here is info on it, could it be related?

As for the Radio interruption, hoax or not, it sounded creepy!

Well I'm not one to do much research before posting,
but for 1977 it sounds a little complicated.
now I don't know if it has indeed been proven a hoax or not, but still.
and the mention of the turning to the age of aquarius would mean december of 2012. hmmm.
something big is gonna go down hoax or not.

This wasn't made in 1977.
Its faked after that.
More than likely by some closet Satanists who think the mythical demon Astar is real.
All the things they say about evolution and enlightenment sounds like Satanists to me.

It's great. A prank, nothing more. However, it was a great and difficult prank to pull at the time.

The 70's equivalent to the Superbowl Porn broadcast

Love the Max Headroom one too. Comedy gold.
