'We thought we were safe... then CNN stepped in!'

www.walesonline.co.uk

A SOUTH Wales couple caught in the Mumbai terror attacks claimed last night that CNN put their lives at risk by broadcasting where they were.

Lynne and Kenneth Shaw, of Penarth, warned that terrorists were listening in to the media to pinpoint Western victims.

Mrs Shaw claimed the American cable TV channel had broadcast details of where they were at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.

She has appealed to the media to be careful with the information it broadcasts because safety could be compromised and lives lost.

Good old "Empty Talking Heads" strike again! When are these idiots going to learn that being the first to spout anything and everything gets people killed? Every one's trying to get a Pulitzer and these morons care not who they hurt in the process! If it bleeds it leads, even if they are the clowns causing the death and distruction because of their ignorance!

funny, because I saw an american couple on tv talking about how they were in contact with cnn and cnn suggested they text to avoid anyone finding out where they were.

they said cnn aided them in a big way.

Its the freedom of the press. The CNN never made a deal that tells them they can't do this or that to save lives. Where does it say in the contract?

i would personally place the blame on the couple for telling CNN where they were.

But I have to remember that too many people no longer believe in self responsibility

Oh, so when the reporting puts people's lives in danger, then we duck and cover behind the freedom of the press card. But when it comes to delivering honest and accurate reporting about corruption and treason committed by our "elected officials", suddenly the values and importance of freedom of the press no longer apply.

Am I understanding that correctly?

Thats it, defend the media.. what are you new here?
How'd you get that admin badge? you steal it?

Seriously though, although I usually rely on heapings of evidence before I jump on a bandwagon, the media are idiotic scumbags and I wouldn't doubt for a second that the former and not the latter claim is true and the rest was created to make the media look good knowing it was going to get out there and make them look like asses.

The only way to let the big networks do what you want is not by appealing to their conscience but to wave big money or power....

The Bastards.......when somebody with power doesn't want them to tell the truth you will not hear about it.
These people will do anything for a good story as long as the investors are kept out of harms way....

Why do we even look at this crap anymore.?? I'll take ATS as my only reliable news source.
