India, Pakistan simmer over Mumbai attacks

MUMBAI (Reuters) – Indian accusations of a Pakistani link to the attacks on Mumbai that killed nearly 200 people threaten to damage attempts to improve ties between the rivals.

Indian officials have said most, perhaps all, of the 10 attackers who held Mumbai hostage with frenzied attacks using assault rifles and grenades came from Pakistan, a Muslim nation carved out of Hindu-majority India in 1947.

This day will be remembered by Indians for a log time. As many say already this is there 9/11. This tragedy will be the outlying cause for increased tensions between India and Pakistan.

If this was India's 9/11 many are already speculating that this was a false flag. It may be or may not be a false flag, but all I know is that this event is giving the desired effect which might lead to warfare and American intervention in the area.

Arab-Americans working for the CIA training Islamic terrorists thinking they are working for a Jihadist group. Military training and tactics. Simple. Go terrorize that Indian city kill a couple of Americans to look like the U.S. is also a victim, and have leave evidence behind that it originated back in Pakistan.

A senior Pakistani security official said Islamabad would divert troops to its border with India and away from fighting militants on the Afghan frontier if the tension spilled over.

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has said "elements" in Pakistan may have been responsible for the attacks. "The Congress calls upon Pakistan to honor its commitment and prevent the use of its territory for commission of acts of terrorism against India," his ruling Congress party coalition said after an all-party meeting late on Saturday.

There wont be a war...just alot of tension...maybe some bombing in the border region with afghanistan...full out war? no,thats just crazy...pakistan doesnt have anywhere near the military power to do such a thing,and they dont want to except corrupt sects of the intelligence agency and government which they are trying to get under control.Pakistan does have nukes remember....

It's going to be hard for America to 'claim' they are the victim since more Indians died. In the early hours of the attack most MSM were reporting that WESTERNERS were being targeted when that isn't true. At the end of the attacks the majority of victims were Indian. While I can see the MSM helping to perpetuate American involvement, I don't see how it wold be likely to stage terror in Mumbai.

There will be no war. Pakistan took some eleven billion dollars in aid from the IMF, and we all know who controls the IMF. If anything this attack will secure world opinion that terrorism still exists. So check under yours beds and in your closet because the bogyman is back.

I truly hope there is no war between these two countries. Yet it seems like it might occur. Many even on this site are hailing 'nuke Pakistan' when it isn't that simple. The ramifications of using a nuke are all too high. Remember Hiroshima?

I agree,
India wouldnt be dumb enough to go to war for the USA.
India/pakistani war was a horrible, costly war.
Neither Pakistan nor India wants it.

One feels they have to retaliate if the other does something,
which is why I have great faith India will see this for what it is.

Pakistan needs to help India locate these individuals, it then needs to stomp on the terrrosits in the border regions.

Pakistan has no important mineral resources but it is to the East of Iran, could they (US, UK Israel) want to surround Iran (as they took control over Afghanistan and Iraq) ?
By the way, both Pakistan and India have nuclear power, but would they use it in a war against each other ? If they wouldn't it would mean that such WMD are only strategically efficient against countries who don't have it !
