Where there is moisture there is life. Its as simple as that.

When I clean my fishtank filter there are little tiny nematode looking things living in the sponges that obviously feed off the nutrients in the fish waste. weird and gross but much the same enviroment.

Tap water has various chemicals and nutrients in it that feed the moss/mold/ algae type stuff that is growing in your pipe and obviously some sort of larvae or microworm is also feeding off either the growth or the nutrients in the water.
