Fluoride in tap water isent enough for Australians

Flouride, in it's tiniest amounts that they put in water, actually strengthens teeth. The flouride compunds replace the calcium compounds in the enamel, which ups the Ph level required to dissolve it, rendering plaque acid less effective at wearing down your teeth. It also has beneficial strengthening affects in other bone structures.

However, having said all that, I think this goes against the individuals right about medication. Only 10% of the UK is drinking treated water and the number is decreasing as public concerns usually stop it. Water should just be water, if you want flouride in it then you should have to go and get it yourself, not have it forced upon you.

the use of flouride in the water supply is meant to mainly reduce cavities in childrens teeth from all the articles and reasons put forward on its use.
The children targeted have very poor teeth as well as poor dental hygine, these are the same children who drink coke or constantly dring soda's, juices, sports drinks and flavoured milks as well as stuff their faces with every sweet you could imagine.
the ones who normally drink the water are those who do brush their teeth and drink water, so what they want to do is medicate the smart children and their parents, because the rest are already brain dead and don't need any more mind numbing chemicals.
maybe they should teach dental hygine in school rather than medicate our kids, each child could be taught to bring a toothbrush to school and taught how to use it, probably be a lot cheaper and keep a few more brain cells in tact.
