There was a picture I saw on reddit where a newscaster was standing infront of a backdrop of the north american continent and clear as day was an island, abou t the size of texas, 1000 miles west of california.

Does anyone have this picture or know what I'm talking about?

Any chance you can post a link to the story reddit has a lot of stories. Finding which has the picture in question will take a while.

Were they doing the weather??? Because a lot of times they put Alaska out in the Pacific when they are going over high and low temps, or maybe during election coverage to show electoral votes. Just a thought.

Maybe ..

It was Alaska in a "cropped box" to fit it on the screen?

Lol..

Hmmmm.... an mysterious island to the west of America.........

Australia? Pretty mysterious there... I mean, how can a country that gave us Russell Crowe also have given us Jason Donovan?

Oh wait, Australias to the east... or is it?

Damn you, International Date Line!

It's probably the mythical continente of plasticsandalia, a landmass the size of texas made mostly of flip-flops, and inhabited by a chicken sized version of athletes foot fungus.

It's silicone island!

All the rejected breast implants from the west coast!

I'd say it's the cropped alaska or hawaii for the sake of having it all on one screen.

Wow! Have they moved Greenland? Last I heard it was closer to the east coast.

I think it was probably Alaska.

im going to try to research these questions on my own but i know if asked here i may get that info sooner

what im wondering is

whered all our globes and maps come from?

yea i know about sattelite images and google earth and all that stuff

but how plausible is it that we may not have the full picture of earth

theres so many conspiracies out there regarding so many things how unbelievable would it be that there might be unknown continents and islands that are being hidden from the public

i mean if north america wasnt found publicly untill a couple hundred years ago, and 95 percent of our oceans are uncharted then maybe there is a continent off the coast somewhere

interesting thread that invokes alot of creativity for me so thank you op

on a side note tho
it would be histerical if it really is alaska or hawaii that ends up being the continent in questions lol

very interesting tho, looking forward to seeing more in this thread

Millions of people fly over the Pacific each year. I've flown over it on the way to Hawaii. Millions of boats, both commercial and private, sail over it. Polynesians and Europeans mapped its currents and all sorts of tiny atolls.

Some of the islands on the charts are less than a mile wide.

I find it hard to believe they missed a continent.
