Despite the recession, Barack Obama’s inauguration will be the most expensive ever and could approach $160 million — nearly four times what
George Bush’s inauguration cost four years ago.
As I recall, you folks and these articles you referencing are only speculating. Basically your dripping partisan venom over something that has been
speculated. Lets wait until the actual costs before we go accusing the man of a figure.
Didnt Bush Have two inaugurations, why you folks only referencing the 2004 one? I find that significant.... I mean howmuch was his first in 2000? $35
million? Wouldnt that make total $70 million? Now at a time during a war that he so called on everybody to commit, a war that he and his followers so
promoted as "freedom fighting", a war thats costing the economy to this day over $200 million a day, over $1 trillion. An economy that has suffered
in part to this war pushed upon by the nationalistic conservative populous. An economy that didnt faulter under Obamas watch. An economy that had a
surplus when the conservatives inherited it, now is over a trillion in debt.
Now by the sounds of it, your making over the top assumptions regarding Obamas inauguration, calling him out on the current economic crises. It just
baffles me ya know... and you ask why folks refuse to understand the differences between that of the 2004 inauguration and the yet to happen
inauguration. Two different individuals, one that can be judged as president because he has served two terms as president, and one yet to be
president, yet to serve a term to be judged upon.
That's about all he is doing - promoting himself.
Oh yes, lord knows he should have fixed the economy now and got rid of those damn arabs. Man... this guy certainly hasnt done a thing in his term as
president.. oh wait....
he hasnt served a term yet
I expect better from ATS members as opposed to partisan bickering.
I highly doubt that most of those who 'approve' even have a clue as to what the guy is doing.
Please enlighten us as to what Obama has already done having not yet started his term as president.
calling for all the Bush inauguration money to be given to the troops instead.
Considering this was Bushes second inauguration, with a war he lied about costing the economy over a $ trillion to this day, with the way his handled
the economy and his followers accusations that all liberals are "anti-american troop hatin folk", I think it be fitting for conservatives to
actually walk the talk.... otherwise dont talk.
Here we are with the most expensive inauguration in history.
-5 times as many estimated to turn out.
-This will be his first inauguration, in addition considering the dollar is not the equivalent to 8years ago.
-Considering the "supposed" most expensive inauguration in history is yet to be "the most expensive".
And the needs of the troops haven't changed.
Why are you saying this now and not back in 2004 eh? Considering that in addition this was conservatives war as well. Why dont you question the 2004
one before you go partisan bickering.
And yet all the complainers of 4 years ago are silent.
For the reasons I listed above
Silent because it's one of their guys and not a Republican.
More like "vocal because its one of the democrats and not ours"..
HYPOCRISY.
Tell me about it...
Referincing partisan propaganda blogs then accusing liberals of being blinded by partisanship.
Accusing the man of spending over $70 million on inauguration day... before it even happens, and then make references regarding the current economic
crises... completely ignoring the circumstances in 2004 and the commitment made by the nationalistic conservatives back then regarding the war.
Hypocrisy?
You folks have hypocrisy written all over.
