With drugs, prostitution, hunting and euthanasia, there are three states.

1. Illegal, ban it all.

2. Decriminalised, let the hoods control it all.

3. Legal, let the state take control.

Do we want to ban it, or let the law allow for novel solutions? The state is probably our best hope in securing liberty (human or animal) in all of this.
