A few more details reported.

Intelligence agencies have launched a massive manhunt for a Mumbai based businessman - [...] - who allegedly arranged arms and explosives for the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorists to conduct the terror attack in Mumbai. [...] The businessman reportedly runs several custom clearing houses in Colaba, Mumbai

Wonder who that is?

They were reportedly trained in marine commando techniques on Mangla Dam, a reservoir stretching between the Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) to Punjab in Pakistan.

investigators were going through the call data details downloaded from the satellite phone recovered from the abandoned trawler. It revealed numbers that have been traced back to Muzammil, LeT's chief of operations.

Older articles mentioning Muzammil.

MUMBAI: The police on Thursday arrested software engineer Muzammil Shaikh and his brother, Faisal, and claimed that the latter was the "western India Lashkare-Taiba commander".

The police had then claimed that he was a businessman operating from Mumbai. TOI learnt on Thursday that the 30-year-old Faisal, a resident of Mira Road, had an "export-import" business.

Both Faisal and the now Bangalore-based software engineer Muzammil will be produced in court on Friday.

Other news reports say that the 5 emails from Deccan Mujahideen to the media were sent from an untraceable re-mailer based in Russia.

Yesterday, Kasab chillingly went through details of Wednesday night’s killing spree across the city, which ended when he was cornered by police.

He pretended to be dead, which probably saved his life. It was only when he was being transferred to hospital by ambulance that his accompanying officer noticed he was still breathing.

I didnt even know that there is such a thing known as a remailer. One thing i dont understand is how come only 1 person was captured alive. Did his friends all abandon him?? Why did he play dead when he supposed to fight to the end? Dont he know that he will be interrogated if he is captured? So why play dead?

This whole thing stinks. Ten people? I don't freaking think so. I don't think the captured terrorist would have had time to do all the things he is claiming. I still think a bunch of them escaped and the inept Indian police are trying to make themselves look better. Either that or the captured terrorist is trying to protect those that got away.

This is my first post on ATS though I have been following it for years, though never participated in any discussion, but the happenings in Mumbai made me to think about it and I have few questions. Here it goes:

1) It has been reported that the 2-3 terrorists entered Nariman House and kept Israelis hostage. Was it carefully planned by the terrorists or there could be a possibility that Nariman House was a hideout / control room of these terrorists and they could have been staying there for a long time as tenants. AFAIK the Israeli Rabbi and his family were staying there on just one floor. So little is known about the Chabad house. Was the entire building used by the Rabbi and his family. The center has an educational center, a synagogue, and offers drug prevention services

2) Some news channels reported that they had eyewitnesses who said that one of the terrorists jumped from Nariman House / Chabad House to another building. Yet we don't have a confirmation about his fate. NSG said later that 2 terrorists had been killed in Nariman House so are they counting the one who jumped from the building.

3) If they are fidayeens, why would they blow up a taxi. Do we know who exactly were there in the taxi? Was any terrorist killed in that. Also, why would they blow up the taxi even on busy road rather than barging the taxi into some building so that they could have maximum damage. Sure, they are fidayeens who are ready to die but wouldn't they want to have maximum damage before they kill themselves

4) Were there two groups simultaneously working in tandem. One group who supposedly came from Pakistan via sea and the other group who could be local responsible for the Vile Parle attack. Did they have plans to even bomb / gun down people in North Mumbai and possibly take hostages in hotels in North Mumbai (Santacruz,Juhu etc)

4) One survivor on a local channel, Aaj Tak mentioned that he saw 17 terrorists on the 6th Floor of the Taj. The survivor supposedly works in security forces. Why is the channel not playing the video of the interview with him again

5) If this survivor is really telling the truth then could it be possible that these 13-15 terrorists(considering that 3-4 terrorists have been killed by the NSG) may have escaped in the garb of trapped guests / hostages when some of them were evacuated

6) Why the government is not producing the photographs of the dead terrorists & why we have been made to believe that the lone terrorist who has been captured is the same guy whose stills have been flashed across the media. Are we made to believe whatever they are trying to tell us.

7) The ATS Chief Hemant Karkare, Encounter Specialist Salaskar and ACP Kamte were in the same police van when they were ambushed by the 2 terrorists and shot dead along with 4 constables sitting in the backseat. Why would the Senior Officer drive and not the constable. May be I'm wrong here. I don't know if it was a spur of a moment decision by Salaskar to drive on his own and why would all of them be driving in the same car. I find that odd.

8) If the terrorists main targets were Brits/Americans/Israelis then why the maximum number of dead were Indians. It was reported in news channels that they were asking specifically for foreigners.

9) If the distance from Leopold Cafe and Taj is about 700-900 m. So even if we assume that that the terrorists first opened fire inside Leopold Cafe and kept shooting for about a minute. Wouldn't that create a commotion outside Leopold since it was about 9:20 in the night and the area is generally crowded. Even if there was a commotion outside with people running everywhere, how did the terrorist manage to feel the cafe and enter Taj without killing people on the road. We haven't heard about anyone getting killed on the road between Leopold Cafe and Taj.

10) This is stretching it far but If the Taj and Oberoi had central AC, why didn't anybody think of blowing in anesthetic gas to tranquilize all and then take control

Well if the captured terrorists told indian authorities they were trained by ISI agents and they belong to LET than why would they wana protect their fellas who ditched them in hotels and did a runner?

Its kinda funny how these terrorists were prepared to die but they didn't give a crap about telling the indian authorities about their 'real identity'

Why is it funny?

Dont they have the same attitude that you do?

In other words, they think that Pakistan can annihilate India, so they dont care about what they reveal. They WANT Indians to know who inflicted last week's pain.

Well, having seen the events and the circumstances so far it seems most people have thought something very fishy was going on in Mumbai.

I've been looking around for reasonable explanation that addresses all the strange peculiarities and nonsense that people have noticed.

I came across the following article that puts all the pieces of this jigsaw together.

www.daily.pk...

I got this link from:

whatreallyhappened.com...

This seems to be a more than reasonable explanation for the recent events in Mumbai. Unfortunate for some, this clearly indicates problems within India such as Hindu nationalist parties and a outcome of an investigation Hemant Karkare had reached (who was strangely killed in Mumbai during the event) . He found that Hindu terrorists had actually carried out previous terrorist attacks.

The conclusions are not good for India at all. Have a read.

Case closed

Yes definetly,on one side Pakistan is paying blood price fighting these terrorists and on the other side its feeding the same terrorists to terrorize india.

Like I said Jinni.. Its a conspiracy site; a convenient place to hide behind conspiracies and false flags.. Because the simple truth is just too hard to swallow? Are we bored with our lives? really guys.. what gives?

Ah! reason.. a word that fails me nowadays..

I came across the following article that puts all the pieces of this jigsaw together.

Ironic huh? That the article comes from Pakistan?
Talks about a coup.. Coming from a country that hasn't been able to keep up a proper democratic government in place for more than 10 years since 71..

I'm sorry.. democratic institutions in India are much too strong to be coup-ed
over.. and the armed forces and much too humble..
Perhaps it is so easy for Pakistanis to conceptualize a coup because they see one in their country every decade!

This seems to be a more than reasonable explanation for the recent events in Mumbai.

Because you ARE biased!! no denying it. Maybe I am too; but you definitely are..

Unfortunate for some, this clearly indicates problems within India such as Hindu nationalist parties and a outcome of an investigation Hemant Karkare had reached (who was strangely killed in Mumbai during the event).

Yes.. a Hindu himself.. he fought something that was unconstitutional..

He found that Hindu terrorists had actually carried out previous terrorist attacks.

No denying that.. terrorists do not have a religion of choice.. they come in all
flavors..

The conclusions are not good for India at all. Have a read.

No, they are not.. Not for India, definitely not for Pakistan..
because when multiple international investigating agencies concur that the attacks originated from Pakistan, with or without govt. and/or military and/or intelligence agency(my god its like a soap opera
) backing, no amount of conspiracy theories or false flag concoctions will alter that. Nobody wants war; nobody wants terror either.

I do not know if you post here to satisfy your conscience or if you are blinded by your faith/ideology/peer group. What ever it is; it is quite serious and I will not let any such potshots on ATS go unchecked.
Deny ignorance and deceit..
bring it on..

3 possibilities here

1) 'soft' coups by Hindu Nationalists that may turn into a 'hard' coup

2) War with Pakistan

3) Another terrorist attack leading to the (probable) crippling of the govt

Anyone gonna make a wager on what will happen?

Im not shoving ALL muslims into the terrorist category. I know that there are many muslims who are honourable, decent people.

Im shoving YOU into the terrorist category (or more accurately, the terrorist sympathiser category).

That is where you are wrong.

India has border conflicts with Pakistan and China.

Pakistan due to Kashmir and China because of border conflict in some Himmalayas region.

Although these border conflicts are not war, the latest attack can change the situation.

I predict that point 3 will happen. Why? Firstly, the strength of the terrorists are unaccounted for. Rumours say that the escaped terrorists are planning more attack. I gonna find the link.

I know it wont mean much coming from an Indian, but history shows that the aggressors have always been China and Pakistan.

Wow it is hard to keep up with the speed of posting on this thread, so my apologies if I am repeating stuff already said.

Here are a bunch of points that need to be repeated anyways ...

1. Karkare, Salaskar and Kamte were in the same police vehicle when they were ambushed while approaching the train station. This was by the terrorists who were responsible for the train station massacre and had just left it. IMO a lucky strike by the terrorists and far less of a head scratcher than I previously thought. The testimony of the survivor implies that the terrorists didn't seem to know whom they had killed.

2. Indian civilians are unarmed, so this isn't like any US state where you can get a concealed carry permit. No civilian is shooting back. The police have bolt action Lee-Enfields. The only body armor I have seen on Indian police looks like Level 1 or 2, which is useless against rifle rounds. The fact the terrorists had a free run before the NSG showed up is quite understandable.

3 The train station or restaurants was just slaughter. They weren't facing any return fire. I agree with Jay that it doesn't mean much that the guy doesn't have his weapon at ready. BTW news reports I read indicate that one guy covered while the other reloaded. Points to some quasi-military training.

4. Saying Pakistan was behind this is a tricky one. Who in Pakistan? Would hardly put it past the ISI. They have been upto this stuff for ages and are totally out of control of the civilian administration. It is also to their advantage to keep things unstable. I doubt the President or Prime Minister were involved. They know that Pakistan is in dire straits and are probably desperate to normalize the situation.

5. Terrorists were guests and workers at the Taj before the attack. Not too difficult to see how some might have got away. Also explains the credit cards. IMO some terrorists are still at large in the city of Mumbai.

6. The actual terrorists could not have been Indians because they risked getting photographed or captured and recognized. Way too risky in a false flag op. This was not a bomb or plane attack. The perps were in plain view. We have to consider the false flag aspects in light of that. They likely had local help from the underworld. Saying they had help from the Hindu nationalists strains credulity.

7. The notion that Americans and Brits were being targeted was way overhyped. Western media were responsible for this, based on one question asked by a terrorist in the Taj. This was because he was letting other westerners go, as far as I know.

You try to let my post go unchecked perhaps because of your blind Indian Nationalistic intentions and you respond with no substance what so ever.

Your rubbish "Yes.. a Hindu himself.. he fought something that was unconstitutional.. "

You are admitting he was on to something but perhaps you can't really accept the implications of your accepting Karkare discoveries.

Gosh, you have not addressed any of the facts I presented or the implications of such facts.

No wonder I didn't answer your previous posts. It's clear that you are trying really hard to perpetrate disinfo and deceit but you can't alter the facts.

If you don't add any value to your posts other than wild personal insults and jibberish then I don't see a need to respond.

Aiming for an intelligent conversation but Daedalus - you bore me with your subjectiveness.

Everyone please take note of Gooberiffic's post!

I thought it was a fair, balanced and thoughtful response.

He criticised the Indian authorities where criticism was due and analysed the situation's causes and context masterfully.

Goober has set the standard. Lets all follow it.

Regardless of our affiliations and beliefs, I think most of us are capable of reasoned judgement and debate. There has been nationalistic rhetoric from both sides. We would do well to check the rhetoric and analyse the situation with a cool head.

That said, some posters have been ridiculous in their stances and beliefs. There is room for debate, but none for propaganda and lies.

Henceforth I will only debate with those posters who offer considered insights or constructive criticism (eg saying that the police need to be better armed, instead of calling the entire Indian police force "cowards").

I urge you all to do the same

Muslim cemetery in Mumbai refuses to bury gunmen

MUMBAI, India — A Muslim graveyard has refused to bury nine gunmen who terrorized Mumbai over three days last week, leaving at least 172 people dead and wreaking havoc at some of its most famous landmarks.

The men are not true followers of the Islamic faith, according to the influential Muslim Jama Masjid Trust, which runs the 7.5-acre Badakabrastan graveyard in downtown Mumbai.

"People who committed this heinous crime cannot be called Muslim," said Hanif Nalkhande, a trustee. "Islam does not permit this sort of barbaric crime."

I agree, let's address these posters that blindly say India is an angel and do not promote any healthy debate to the contrary.

It's really humorous to see Indian or Pakistani nationalist people blindly spout off nationalist propaganda and lies.

You can usually identify them by their avator (as in a Indian\Pakistani flag) or their blatant hypocrisy and failure to respond to facts.

Can you please tell us all what was Hermant Karkare investigating in India and what he found? (yes, I'm talking about Hindu terrorist actions carried out to purposely blame Muslims).

Go on, go on. Tell us that news!

Google is your friend.

P.S. This site is called ATS. Don't post here if you don't expect an open minded discussion on all matters. Propaganda can be spread on other forums which I'm sure you are most aware of.

Go on. Telll us all what Hermant Karkare found!!!!!!

Silence in EVERY thread about this topic by every one of you people.

Pathetic.
